HD bags for lead ballast?

I know I've seen these somewhere on the site but can't find the name. They are HD vinyl bags with 2 handles that you can fill with lead for ballast. Anyone know the name or web address?

I think when i sent an email to the pop-products guys they only wanted $8.50 per bag and a very resaonable ammount for shipping so making your own probably wouldnt be necessary at that price.

Yup, that's exactly what I was thinking of. I've got a couple hundred pounds of lead and I was looking for something sturdy enough to handle the weight.

just go to a tire store and ask for some old tire weights they will give you some for free. a 5 gallon bucket holds 150# then put some in a duffle bag or 2in pvc pipe or tuperware contaners what ever size and weight you need.

^^^^Yeah i would try that locally, all the tire shops around me had recycling contracts so they wouldnt give me any .

I think the original poster was talking about empty bags, thats what i was talking about if anyone misunderstood about the pop-products stuff

I got an email from Pop Products and the bags are reasonable as someone else posted..8.50 each. They are 9" x 13" x 2" and hold approx. 50 pounds of lead.

Most chain tire stores have to to recycle lead but if you go to independant tires shops or alignment shops they are happy to get rid of it. I got 2- 5 gallon pails for zippo.

i have 800#s of pop products... thats 20 bags. I am very happy with them, they work great, but in case you dont know, they are steel pellets, not lead. so if you want a little more weight in the same space, spend the time to melt your own lead. I have also found shops that will sell lead in almost any shape (mostly 1/2" - 1" thick plates), custom, for about $1 per pound. pop products are a bit cheaper, around 85-90 cents a pound???
