The $20 Skim Board Experiment....for real

We picked up a skim board for $20 at a local Big 5 Sporting goods here in Colorado....yeah, not sure why a sporting goods store in Colorado would have a skim board, but hey, why not!

We put some old CWB center fins off of a CWB SOl wakeboard and got some Dakine surfboard traction off of Whiskey Militia for $10 and BAM here's our new surfboard!

I have some video too of my buddy riding it for 30 seconds...too. Would this count as our entry into the EAST/WEST challenge?

I will post up some more pics of it...not sure but it seems pretty light. It's 3/8" thick plywood, 20" wide and 42" long.

Timmy- good idea on the traction. I used wax, which sucks when you're leaving the water. The black $20 one is a little bigger but I like the shape of the orange. Why fins? The board is so thin it rails like nothing else.

We put fins on it just for some stability. You can still do a 720 on the thing like it's nothing! Here's a few pics:
