Has anybody used a soft cap on their pickup truck? Any opinions would be appreciated.

I had a soft teano cover on my El Camino when I was in High School. The thing had snapps and support bars that were always messed up. Mine was a pain to deal with.

only ever used hard cap top. rollnlock first couple times, and now have a fiberglass top on. I kind of prefer them, then you can lock the lid and keep them thieves out.(for the most part)

I just got an Extang trifecta tonneau cover for my rig. It is great! Its a tri-fold design......very durable and takes hardly anytime to put on and off. I like it because I can fold it back when I have some bulky items that are too high I can still transport them along with the smaller items that can be kept under cover against the bed. It also is totally weather proof when covering the bed. NO water gets in. Check it out at www.extang.com I got mine through autoanything.com.

Ryan,

Did the roll n lock work well? Also, how dry did it keep the bed?

I should have provided more information on my original post. I actually have two needs.

I would like something like the softopper for a few times a year where I haul stuff to the cottage but I don't want a hard top. http://www.softopper.com/

Most of the time I would use a tonneau cover. The tonneau would need to be soft or retractable such as the rollnlock.

This is the one i went with! http://www.truxedo.com/lopro/truxedo-lopro.html

It works great, even with alot of temp changes! I've never got water in my bed! The company i got it from says it keeps the bed dry 95% of the time! But like i said i've never seen water in my bed!
