Hello,
I am looking for the coolest board rack out there.
I am considering the dual mount Wake Designs rack in chrome, as well as the Nvert rack. I understand there have been some design changes for the 2004 Nvert but have not seen a photo yet.
Any other NEW racks to consider?

The new Mastercraft rack on the picklefork boat is incredible.

Brent, it's pretty similar to the above pic, right?

Yeah, I saw the mastercraft rack... Really nice and solid... Can I order two for my Nautique??
Old    hockeyruss            01-29-2004, 10:24 AM Reply
they look cool but if you mount them high, they are almost impossible to get to the top to push them down on the board. that is why mastercraft abandoned the idea and is going with a more traditional design.

Noooo! Way different. They are like an Nvert rack on steroids now. They have a clamp system and the handle is on the inside of the boat...on the other side of the board rack, so clamping the racks down is effortless. Fits surfboards too. All billet aluminum...a sweet set up that I will never have unless I buy a Mastercraft

Brent,

I'm getting a pair of the version two Nverts soon. I think you'll be very impressed.

I already have a set of the Battle Racks. There are fine but pretty plain. I was looking for soemething more substancial. The new racks on 2004 Mastercrafts are really the look I am after.

The dual mount Wake Designs is also pretty sweet.

not sure what you mean by more substantial, but stay away from Nverts! i'm in the market for new racks as well, but i just want something that holds my boards and doesn't fall apart (and doesn't cost me 900 bones like a pair of the new flight clips...)

So I went with the new Wake Design dual tower mount in chrome.
Their new design is featured in an ad in all the wakeboard magazines.
Their website only has the old design.
In the next few months I will be selling a new set of Wakeside Battle racks.

I really like the new Wake Designs dual tower mount board rack as well. From the magazine images the details are very cool. They have not released their marketing package to us yet so that's why it's not up on our site yet.

Hopefully it will be very soon.

i like the wakeside battle rack and the Boss warp 2. i think more things on out boats should be shaped like weapons. maybe add some PT style torpedo launchers or maybe even a .50 cal on the tower....

Maybe Wakeside Design Studio's next project should be clustered tower speakers that look like a missile or torpedo launcher?

Greg,
So you just didn't like the look of the Battle racks? Did they work fine?
How much will you be selling them for and do you have any of the options for them?
Oh yeah, what size tower are they for?
Thanks

what about the single mount wake design racks? how are they?

The Wake Designs 2 Board Rack with Dual Tower Mounts is available in White, Black, or Chrome for 2004. They only fit tower diameters of 1 3/8 - 2 inch.

These are expensive racks, but the detail is amazing. The good news is that the mounts have no upcharge this year and the chrome upgrade is half the price of 2003. The chrome version will end up more than $150 less than 2003.

Images of the 2004 model is currently only in Wake Boarding Magazine but I will try to get them on our site in the next few days.

Old     (typhoon)      Join Date: Jul 2001       02-02-2004, 1:48 PM Reply
or are those made by proflight? the only thing i did not like about the proflight racks is that a cassette skate will not fit in it. the skate is too wide.

The Wake Designs single mount racks are newly designed in 2004 as well. Also need pics for that one. Prices are in now.

I have a 2002 Wake Designs single mount rack. Its a great rack, but not so hot in rough water, i've never been able to get it to hold. Switching to dual mounts this year.

I prefer racks that are sturdy, warrantied, look nice and protect my boards, but not over-engineered with alot of moving parts. Also looking for a good value. The Mako racks do the trick for me.

Great to see the MBO rack on here. Rod Rosare at MalibuBoatOwners.com makes great stuff. He's been hooking up Malibu owners with some really nice tower accessories. I know he does 2-1/4" and 2-1/2" clamps and bet he can do any size.

I had the Boss mirror mount similar to the MBO and could not get my mirror to angle the right way.
I switched to the Sampson Sports mirror mount.
The MBO and Boss mounts have 2 points to move and the Sampson has 3 which make it fit anything.

Perhaps speaking with the devil, but does the MBO mirror arm fit on a FCT ???
Old    tommyadrian5            02-06-2004, 6:12 AM Reply
Lloyd or Neil, do you know if the mirror mount can fit a 1 7/8 inch tower.
Old    gregpinch            02-06-2004, 8:18 AM Reply
I just received my Wake design double mount rack.
It is AWESOME. There is NO rack on the market with as much detailing, and custom parts. The rumber on the arms has been custom molded to be snug on a wakeboard and/or a surfboard. The handles and bungie cord are also custom made.
This is one heavy duty, beautifully designed rack.
It is also one of the most expensive.
In this case you DO GET what you pay for.

Do you have a digital image of the 2004 Wake Designs Dual Mount rack? I am supposed to get one from them this week hopefully. They are not finished with their marketing kit yet.

We just added the Fluid Concepts wakeboard racks and tower speaker system to our site last week. They have some really exciting new products for 2004 season that will soon be available including the slickest tower speaker quick-disconnect that I have seen. Jerry at Fluid is great to work with and expect the good customer service that Richard mentioned.
