Weight my Vride

How would you weight my V?
When we ride our sweet spot is tiny, and after watching videos I am wondering if we have it
all wrong.
No wedge
factory ballast on one side
fat sac on same side
fat sac up in walk way
340 lbs in the bow
3 to 4 people

I've never ridden behind your specific model, but maybe as some general rules of thumb we can all agree on is the following(?):

More weight in the rear corner and slower speed will produce a TALLER and STEEPER wake, at the expense of the length of the pocket.

More weight in the front and a faster speed will produce a LONGER pocket at the expense of height and steep transition.

Bigger boats require more weight to cause the hull to list than smaller boats.

Personally, I prefer to start at the back corner and add/subtract weight/speed using the rules above to achieve the wake I'm after.

Use the wedge. You will be pleased. 10 MPH as well

We just got an 05 V-Ride. 1st time out tonight. We liked one side fully weighted, other side some in, middle empty and the wedge (tried without and had a lot of whitewash) Just wondering what finally worked for you as we are still experimenting. (We don't have any weight in the front)

I have an 05 V-ride also, we load down whatever side the rider is on with anything we can get. Dump balast on opposite side. Use the wedge. We usually have one person laying over the sun deck on the side of the rider to add weight and catch the rope. Anybody extra stays on that side too. Rod's right, bout 10 fer us too. We ride at Morse in Indiana.

I have the same hull, but no wedge. I run 750's in the back (port full, stbd 1/3 or so), a 650 locker sack, and another 750 along the port side between the observer & back seat with a 150 qt cooler sitting on top of it (no wraparound in my 96).

We never set up to surf on the starboard wake. I am goofy, but the port side wake is so much better than the stbd that I just learned to ride backside long ago.

When we want to board, we only have to move the 750 to the walkthru and top off the rear port sack.

Here's my buddy from a couple weeks ago, he's about 5'-9".

We've finally been able to get out a bit more. With just a couple of people in the boat we are getting a huge wake. We use the wedge, fill whichever side we need, a bit in the center (too much seems to give us whitewash) and everyone on the same side. One person sits at the back on the swimbed. I ride goofy and so far that side has been better for us. I think maybe because the driver adds an extra person to that side. We have been having a blast on our 05 V-ride
