We launched out of Rivers End in the Delta this morning and I could not believe how terrible the water was. We managed to find one small stretch of water that was decent. The only problem is that everyone else seemed to eventually find that spot as well. Anyone else out there today? I sure hope Monday is better. On the other hand, I was surprised it was not too crowded (probably due to the crappy water). It started to get a little crowded as we headed in around 11am.
I think they said it was gonna be pretty windy today. I heard small craft advisory for the bay till this afternoon. Sunday and Monday should be better. We'll be taking off Monday for three days, gonna have the whole lake to ourselves!
We went out at 6am this morning from Buckly Cove and it was perfect! Even the deep channel was smooth. We hit our usual spots between ski beach and tower park and found nothing but butter until about 9:30 when the wind picked up...then around 10:30 people started showing up...we split around 11:30 and by then the water was HORRIBLE and too many people and too many damn yatchs.
We started to go out on Saturday morning, early. Got to the gas station and decided to turn around and head home. It felt like gale force winds for a while on Saturday and Sunday. Monday morning was nice though...
