Speedometer and Perfect pass are off 3-4 MPH. When I first ran it the MPH would top out at 43 but the perfect pass was at 39. When I calibrated the MPH to match the perfect pass the boat was topping out at 39.2MPH at 5000rpms. Thats with no ballast. I know generally your not gunna hit that 50mph mark on the speedometer but 39 seems a bit off. The paddle wheel has even been replaced and im running the stock prop as well. Anybody know whats goin on or had this problem before? I even brought my GPS and it read 39.2 when the boat was at 5000rpms

Sounds dead on to me.... They're propped to get a lot of weight out of the water, not to go fast.

If it makes you feel better, my '02 Sanger with the MPI motor would only turn 42 mph and it was a much smaller boat.

If you want to go fast you'll get rid of your holeshot.

What engine do you have. Your right though that does sound a bit slow. I don't know how fast any of our boats go empty. Travis might know what the speed might be.

Not sure I understand. Were you expecting the boat to go faster? And if so, why?

The GPS doesn't lie. Is this how you calibrated the speedo and the perfect pass?

It seems that I have seen our speedo over 40 but I could be wrong.

Evan is right though who really cares about speed. You want speed you have the wrong boat. What ever you do don't get a jet ski

No not expecting to go faster and its the MCX350. I know these boats are geared to do a certain speed whether you have the MCX400 or 350. Yes there made to pull alot of weight out of the water I understand all this. I know that boat wont do 50mph. But 39 does not seem right. feels like its a few mph off and its not me cryin about it. Its our customer suprising huh? ha anyways weve hooked the lap top up to the motor and changed the paddle wheel so I guess 39 is top speed.

Just curious, what prop is on there from the factory? I think you should have a 14.25 X 14 if I'm not mistaken. 39 sounds about right for top end with that prop. The 13.7 X 17 prop might give you a bit more on the top end, but big sacrifice on holeshot with extra ballast.

My boat runs 51 on PP (49.7 GPS) with the '07 exhaust re-call/re-cal (8.1) and a 14.5 X 22. Dave is dead on, prop for what your using the boat for.

I have GPS installed on my boat, and it will run just under 41. I have the LY6 and run the 14.25x14. So with the MCX I would say you are really close.

Mine has the MCX with the 14.25x14, and top end is only 39 mph at 5300rpms. It has been that way from day one!

Ha, ha, ha.... A guy at the dock last weekend saw the for sale sign on our old boat and asked how much. We told him, and his next question was "how fast?".... I told him it goes 27 and gets on plane. That's all that matters. It's rare for us to break 30 these days. I think he was confused as he was driving off on his bass boat. LOL!!

i need 41 and up to get my big azz footin so that would be an issue for me. if you dont foot it should not be a problem but i do think the boat should do 43 or 44. it would need good water if it is rough out it might not make it above 40.
