I've been looking into buying this boat from its only owner, wants $17,000 for it. Has a zero flex waket tower on it. I have yet to see the interior though the hull looks to be in good shape. what do you guys think of this boat? does it share a hull with an of the X series boats? Also, do you think it would be an upgrade over my 2007 SeaRay 185sport i/o?

I believe that is an X7 hull. It is an upgrade and it is a great ski hull.

same hull as x7 loads up nicely with weight.it is probably a closed bow so will have to feed some weight in the nose...2 5's down either side of the engine and you will love it...WB mag just did an article about the pro's riding an X7 @ Shasta...I really enjoyed the write up...an good pics too...

I am pretty sure it's not same hull as an an X7 The X 7 is a prostar 197 which is an open bow. The 190 is more along the lines of the X5 which only ran a couple years. IT was a closed bow wake version of the 19skier.

Would be an upgrade for sure from your I/O, but I think at that price you would be better off for boarding finding an older Prostar 205. This will give you a ton more room, an open bow, and share the same hull as their current X1/205V which is regarded by most as one of THE BEST shaped boarding wakes out there. If I were looking to upgrade from that I would def go with a prostar 205 if my focus was purely boarding, If you are not set on MC than a Sport Nautique would also be a great find offering the same as the Prostar 205

the prostar 190 and 197 are the same hull(I think), just one is a closed bow and one isn't. It is pretty low profile so you will have to be careful with puting a lot of weight in it. That seems like a really good price if it is in good shape and mechanically sound.

I am pretty sure the hull on the 197 and the tournament team edition are the same, so to say that one skis better than the other would be incorrect.

The 2002 Tournament boats were actually a bit different than the standard hull, the Tournament boats had a "hook" added to the back two inches of the running surface to create lift. The lift helped push the bow down for increased tracking while lifting the stern up for a smaller ski wake. In 2003 all 190 and 197 hulls had the hook added.

I stand corrected. Thanks for the info.
