I Have a 2006 MasterCraft X2 with the 310 HP engine. I loaded it up with 22000 LBS (1000 in the front and 1200 in the back) in addition to the stock KGB ballast - it wouldnt plane out until we emptied the rear KGB ballast and even then the Perfect Pass could not hold the speed, we had to drive manually at about 26 MPH to pull a good wake. Does any one have any experience with this boat and how much weight to load it with for optimal wake? We had 5 people in the boat too.

Also - I have been looking at the Fly High additional ballast system for the X2. How is it?

I have the same boat with the 350hp in it and I run that much weight plus peeps with no problems at all. I changed my prop to the ACME 1285 though. I've also had the OJ 14.25 x 14 and it worked just as good.

if it is the stock prop, then you have the 13.7x17 prop, which is not good for ballast. MC switched to the 14.25x14.5 OJ in 07 or 08 and switched to a different prop recently (15.?x??). both oj and acme make good props for ballast boats and could put you on what you need.

Personally, I run the 14.25x14.5 (stock with 08 x2)with over 2000 lbs and it does good with ballast without raising the rpms too much at cruising speeds. The 14.25x14 would even do better with ballast but it would raise the rpms more. A different boat but a good comparasin is my 06 x1, I ran both the 13.7x17 and the 14.25x14.5 and it was a huge difference.
