Give me some opinions on the XLV, I don't see many in my area, and I was just wandering what people that had one or have rode in or behind thought of them....

If your looking used, I believe that 2005 is when Moomba really started stepping up the fit and finish quality. If your looking new, remember that the quality of the dealer is juat as important as the boat itself. Sorry I cant be more helpful...

I have the XLV and the boat is great. Puts out a killer wake and drives nice too. I dont think you could find a better boat or wake for the price these go for.Upload

i have one and i love it! interior layout is amazing! i have friends with all types of boat and everyone likes the interior layout on mine the best!

the wake is amazing! i run 2600# of ballast plus people and the wake gets scary! its big and steep very similar to a 210!

if you are looking for a boat with a killer wake and lots of storage and room for people the xlv can't be beat for the money!

my is for sale by the way :-)

I have an 04 and love it! The boat is huge inside and throws an incredible wake. Everyone I ride with loves the wake and the size of the boat. Especially when the party gets crackin!

just to start i have an mb b52 and love it i also have a friend with an xlv and think it is a great boat he put the gravity bags in it and honestly it has to be one of the best wakes i have riden. but i do like a steeper wake. his boat performs great more room than mine and alot less $ers i dont think you could go wrong with a xlv. i dont own one but i would happily.

if you are going to order an '08 xlv then i would suggest getting the gravity III ballast and the wakeplate those are going to be the most important factory options you can get. the nice thing about the xlv is that some people will say it is too big and hard to sink into the water, but with a slightly upgraded ballast you can have a tournament quality wake that can be mellow with the wakeplate down or steep with it up and you don't have to worry about any rollers coming over the front or sides like with smaller boats once you add some weight.

I actually got the opportunity to tour the plant today. It was pretty cool...I don't if anybody has saw the new graphics on the gravity xlv but they are really sick. moomba really stepped it up this year with the xlv. I was disappointed to hear they didn't have the same graphics with LSV. I don't know what to do....I think I may just get a Bu VLX like I really wanted to begin with I was just trying to save some change....I dunno, who knows....

The XLV is not hard to sink. The hull is notched out in the back to help it sink easier and faster. I heard that they redesigned the hull on the XLV this year. How does it look? Differences? It surprises me that they redesigned it. SC keeps impressing me with the Moomba line.

Definetetly some changes to the XLV for '08. But, the previous years hull and boat were great IMO. I've ridden behind one a handful of times and loved the wake when properly dialed.

It's got the gravity games logo in where mobius usually is, still has the sponsor stickers but with a huge hand painted looking XLV angled down the back of the boat...pretty sweet

That right there is why I went with a Bu. I sat in the seat and my noggin was completely above the windshield. It seemed to be quite a bit "shallower" than a Bu. And with a 3 and a 2 year old, they don't need encouragement to fall over the side.

Chad, are you talking about the oval Moomba decal on the side. I had mine taken off at the dealer and put on the Mobius decal. I like the looks better. Post your pic!

Shon_g, I saw your boat at the dealer the other day. Why did you put the boat wrap over the boat decal? Are you bringing it to Bell Aqua this weekend?

Shawn, I can tell ya that you are missing something. I am 6'5"+ and WITH my XLV booster seat up my head is not completly over the windshield.

Todd, no it's not the regular oval...it has an arrow pointing down in the middle of it...I didn't think to get any pics with my phone sorry for the let down...maybe the 08 website will come up in a few weeks

Thanks Chad. I will see them at the release in Tahoe on the 23rd. So it sounds like you bought a XLV right?

Does anybody know what changes they have made on the '08 models.

I put the wrap over the graphic so if I ever sell the boat I can take off the wrap and the graphic will still be there.

What did you think?

Hmm.. yeah it was the LSV I was sitting in. Without the booster I guarantee my head was clear above the windshield. I thought you might be sitting on the booster, but I kid you not, that is exactly how it was without the booster in that boat. I'm 6'4". I would assume the XLV is a bit deeper eh?
Old     (tmobe)      Join Date: Mar 2007       08-15-2007, 10:54 AM Reply
Nate- only little things on most models but I hear they changed the hull on the XLV. I'll let you know after the 23rd.

Shon- Good idea about putting it over to save you a buck if you sell it. Not like its going in a show. Not many like the orange but I am a fan! Looks good. Who did your wrap? And how much was it?

Shawn- yes...the LSV has a little higher floor I think. If your 6'4" I think you will find yourself rather tall in most 21' boats. I will be on a LSV today. Ill compare it to my XLV and measure..you have me curious.
