I am thinking of buying a prebuilt JL Audio 12w7 box off ebay which has been built to specks and rinoliner and re-carpet it and mount at the foot of the driver. Any one done this?

I had some boxes built for w6's without carpet and had them line-x'd. Never did carpet them and they've held up great. I built a new kick panel to hide the sub. Turned out pretty good.

There are a ton of crappy boxes on e-bay but there are two companies on there that build quality boxes. I had my boxes built by a guy on there and they are legit. All internally braced, 1" front baffle for sub mounting, etc...

He does nothing but boxes for JL subs. You can call him up and talk to him, his name is Bill. He's on the east coast but he didn't charge me jack for shipping the three boxes I had him build. I had him build the boxes without carpet so I could line-x them. His e-bay store is

For car audio, we either use Audio Enhancers or Subthump pre-built for something that's an odd shape, such as under or behind truck seats.
