Yup.... bad indeed. RIP for those that lost their lives. They were talking about all the displaced pets this morning. What an ordeal. My boss' dad lived on the cross street where the fire started. He's still not sure if his house burnt. This morning my boss was still trying to find him. Finally found him at one of the temporary shelters close by.

Wow i can't ever remember an explosiion in a neighborhood like this one! So sad! I was watching TV when it was first reported . The fire started out smaller and the TV report was speculating that it was probally a gas station , but they could not rule out a plane crash. I guess it was a gas line.

Some of you guys know I own a marine Service and Repair shop....so I keep fairly active on the local (NorCal) boards that deal with fishing and fishing boats. One of the moderators of a fairly popular board, imhooked.com, unfortunately, was very seriously injured in the blast. Perhaps even worse, he witnessed his girlfriend perish in the fire as he was un-able to get to her to render aid.

The internet has made the world a lot bigger in a lot of ways, but also a lot smaller. I never have met this young man, yet i still feel I "know" him from watching and reading his posts over the last few years. He has literally grown up on the forum, as he started posting back a half dozen years or so ago when he was just a early teen age kid.

Keep him and his girlfriend's family in your prayers.

Yeah...it's really strange, as i never actually met him, but have been watching him post on the fishing boards since he was probably 12 or so. It's like we watched him grow up thru his posts.

All indications are that he is a fine young man....I hope his healing process is a smooth as it can be given the situation.
