That's an awesome tid bit..

Too bad only a V8 touareg on the Driveway at home.... only rated for 7700lbs...

I had a dual axle car trailer and 3000lbs car and it towed like nothing was back there..

Maybe it's time to borrow a friends 28' enclosed race car trailer!!

I like the facelift on them this year. And towing that thing at 5 mph and then stopping it with the car is pretty impressive I suppose.

That's a WHOLE lot of force to stop, even at 5mph. Think about how much you feel your boat behind you when you brake... now imagine the inertia/force is 125 times greater (and without the assistance of brakes). I think that's pretty dang impressive for a production luxury vehicle.

But most importantly, excellent publicity stunt on VWs part! Anyone know if Porsche still has its hands in this project?

all i know is that i would love to have one of those.

yeah I am with you there. although it seems like 550ft/lbs not much for a v10 TT, I bet a chip in that thing would add a ton.

If you chip it's almost as quick as a the Porsche Turbo SUV... but your getting 4 times the milage!

The V10 Diesel is a real heavy lump, to heavy For the Touareg. It ruins the cars handeling on anything other than a drag strip and the MPG figures are not much better than the for the V8.

Just wait for the Audi Q7 With the V12 Turbodiesel with torque figures in the 700's

"Having covered an estimated 150 metres the driver eased back on the throttle before slowly engaging the Touareg’s brakes to slow both the vehicle and the aircraft to a stop."
