Thinking about upgrading to a new head unit. currently have the factory installed Sony CDX-CA705M in our 04 Centurion Cyclone How many of you guys are putting non-marine head units in you boats? Son wants to buy new head unit that has ipod jack in the faceplate.

You might check to see if there is a pigtail that plugs into your CD changer jack that'll give you an aux input. Cheaper than a head unit! Sonys are durable, don't skip, and have lots of choices for remotes etc. availablle.

I just got a factory Ipod adaptor that lets you control your Ipod with the factory radio buttons. The brand is USA Spec from crutchfield and it is much cheaper than a new unit and took less than 15min to install.

Oh yea, also has auxilary input for Sat. radio or other.

Here is a link

I've had really good luck with Pioneer head units. They never skip.

I've also used Kenwood and had terrible luck with their head units.

I bought the Alpine 9856 for my car with iPod integration and Sirius Sat Radio and I love the deck. However, I would never get the iPod integration in a boat cause it takes to much time to scroll through (even though Alpine has the fastest right now) and it would take too much of my focus away from driving to find a song.

In our boat we have a Kenwood HU with a head phone jack to RCA cable connected to an aux input adapter (that goes into the same port as a CD changer) I think it cost about 30 bucks and the quality is superb!
