I did not chose “pretty lighting” in a mall or under neon signs. That would have been cheating in my book.

The short was shot near East 6th and Mateo St. in Los Angeles - in an industrial part of the city. If you live in the area - go check out the area - you won’t believe the video you see below came from the poor lighting in that area. Sodium and mercury vapor lights. That’s it. Really awful lighting.

Not a single external light source was used / added. In other words I did not use a single flashlight, LightPanel, flood light - nothing. For one shot only I pulled out a silver reflector… just to say we did it really. And yes it worked (see the shot of the young girl.)

WOW! That's a nice camera. I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of new 7D owners suffering from buyers remorse.

The 7D is gone the minute I get my hands on one of those!

No remorse though between getting decent dollars for the 1D3 and selling the EX1 I had I've got $ to burn for that and a few lenses.

I like the 7D a lot but I'm just not a fan of 1.6X sensors and I've gotten too used to the 1D handling and controls. And one thing about the 1 series bodies whether they have the most pixels or are the latest technology they always seem to give the very best IQ. I would have been happy staying with the 1D3 if it did video and had a hirez LCD.

Canon didn't like the fact Vincent's video was shot in part with Zeiss lenses.
