So I'm thinking it time for some tower speakers but unfortunately wet sounds are out of my budget. So I'm going to give the kicker KMT6s a try. My question is what would be a good amp for these speakers? I'm looking at kicker amps as well as they seem to be somewhat inexpensive but still reliable. The stats for the KMT6s are: # 150 watts RMS power / 300 watts Peak # 4 ohms impedance And the amps I'm looking at so far are: ZX 350.2 # 2 Channels ZX Series car amplifier # 110 watts RMS x 2 channels at 4 ohm # 175 watts RMS x 2 channels at 2 Ohm ZX 350.4 # 60 watts RMS x 4 channels at 4 ohm # 90 watts RMS x 4 channels at 2 Ohm # 175 watts RMS x 2 channels at 4 Ohm bridged mode ZX 450.2 # 150 watts RMS x 2 channels at 4 ohm # 225 watts RMS x 2 channels at 2 Ohm I guess my question is will the 350.2 be powerful enough, I know running the amp at 4 ohms is better. I just don't know enough about all the loads, and how much RMS power I need, etc. Which one of these amps do ya'll suggest?

Or you could just buy my: Evid 6.2 Tower Speakers With Zapco DC 1000.4 (500watts x 2) For a nice package price of $1000!!! Or if you are looking for amp advice... nothing nicer than the Zapco stuff... thats what I run... and not only loud... crystal clear...

My first choice would be the Kicker ZX550.2 = 205W RMS X 2 @ 4ohm. Next would be the ZX450.2 = 150W RMS X 2 @ 4ohm. Last would be to bridge the ZX350.4 for 175w RMS X 2 @ 4ohm The least expensive option will be the zx350.4.

Thanks for the advice so far, also apparently when you bridge the 350.4 to 2 channels its mono. Is that ok?

I have two kmt6's on mine and I'm running them off a kicker zx 350.4...bridged the two left channels for my left kmt6 and the same with the right at 175W a piece they sound really good! I would push more power to them than that though considering they are only rated for 150W..if you had more power to them you'd have to turn the amp down anyway..and that's just wasting money on a bigger amp when you don't need it...

Ridin, The KTM6's are rated @ 300w peak, you want at least 150w to them. No problem pouring the coals to them from what I've been told.

When I talked to a guy from Kicker, he said a 2 channel amp was better because if a 4 channel was bridged and used it would be forced to shut down or something. Don't know if that's right or not, but how does this amp look http://cgi.ebay.com/KICKER-ZX350-2-CAR-AUDIO-350-WATT-2-CHANNEL-AMPLIFIER_W0QQitemZ130230806961QQihZ003QQcategoryZ 39732QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem ? Also, my boat is stored on a lift in the lake and I'd rather not pull it out through the whole thing and was wondering if you guys thought having someone come work on it the lift was a bad idea.

If you are going to spend the money for an amp, don't buy it on ebay, especially when its a factory refurb. Find an authorized dealer of the amp you want and buy it from them, that way if there is an issue its covered under warranty. GO here and take alook at the pricing. THey are an authorized Online Kicker Reseller. http://sonicelectronix.com/viewcat.php?show_thumbnails=1&show_description=1&i d=26&car_only=&page=1&manufacturer=23&new_page=1

From an email I sent to TigeMike for those of you that would put in your very appreciated input. 1. I'm looking at the Kicker zx350.2 for 135 shipped. Is that a decent deal? Will that be enough power for the KMT6s or should I get a 4 channel and bridge like you said before and, if so, do you have any suggestions for around the same price. 2. I have an 04 Tige 22V that looks to be prewired on the drivers side, which unless there is something I don't know that Tige does, isn't the smartest thing. Do you know what exactly they might have wired in there currently and what else I would need to get (wires) and what the install would entail. I already had a stereo put in at a store when I got the boat so I don't know if that matters at all with wiring to the battery or anything else, probably not though. Does this kit cover everything I need?

Wakeborder5, I replied to your PM. A 2 chnl (listed above) is the best choice, but bridging a 4 chnl is ok if kept at 4ohms. There is only a $15 diff between the zx350.2 and the zx350.4 (my dealer cost) so if you can find a decent price on a zx350.4, get is as it will provide so much more juice to the KTM6's over the 2chnl.
