For which style of riding? Surf? Skim?

A combination of both. More to the skim side but still fast enough to sneak back into the wave.

No one board is going to be the best skim board and best surf board. You need more than one board.

I'd say the IS Yellow/Green is a good crossover.

What about SMED? I have been looking into the IS Green, but have heard nothing but good about Smed Surfs.

I just rode a Smed Wombat 4'6" the other day and had a blast on it. Very fast.

I still like my Shred Stixx board. I have the Thresher. Also have a Vernor 4'8" Quad fin that is super fast! I really want to try on of the Phase 5 Drew boards too.

Derek, how are you liking your Vernor? You said you still like your Thresher. Which one do you prefer, or what are strengths/weaknesses of both?

Anyone who knows me knows I'm a Smed boards disciple here. Fun, fast, and solid.

Kenny,
I haven't been on the Vernor since I moved. I rode someone else's in TX a couple of times and man was it fast! I can't give a good comparison of the two because I haven't spent as much time on the Vernor. The Thresher is fast and easy to maneuver, I've got 360 down pretty well on it too. I think the Vernor will be easier to air out, I haven't gotten the groove to getting the SS off the wave. Only been out once since I moved, so just wishin' I was surfin'.

if the vernor quad is the competitor that you have, that is not a vernor shape at all. that is a direct copy of chase hazons pro board. so it really is a shredstixx board, even if it has the vernor logo on it and no shredstixx logo.

It was made and shaped by Vernor, but it's still a good board. Didn't mean to step on any toes.
