since were on the subject, you guys might want to look into this stuff called "VIBE" im not a big fan, but some buddies of mine are really into it..check it out..its SUPER healthy for you..just ready how much protien/calcium/viatmins you get in just one ounce of this stuff..pretty amazing!

i need to try green monster... blue (sugar free) was my first and almost made me stay away from energy drinks altogether

redbull-after running the hilly peachtree 10K some hot chicks with red bull backpacks gave me one and it was nice!.. i recently tried the sugar free which is roughly 100 calories less? not sure... but they're similar so i'll be drinking sugar free since i'm trying to drop down to 155 from 165

but i'm gonna get a monster soon

Was the original green Monster. Now I am on to the Monster Khaos (orange color). Has a nice fruit juice flavor with the kick of Monster.

the "cocaine" energy drink is now named "Redline" and is so powerful that the FDA has taken it off the shelves 3 times, but my fav. is either Rockstar, Java Monster, Kronik, Whoop Ass, or the Orange Monster M-80, just had one of the M-80's today and they're awesome! but a friend of mine is sponsored by red bull for motocross and gets all he wants ;) so thats always an option

Thanks everyone. I just tried a Rockstar this morning, but don't feel as much as I thought I would. Does it take a while to kick in? I have a friend who works on some car magazine, and she can get me NOS free. I'll try that as well. I will be picking up one of those Monster's (probably the Orange one), and a Red Bull. I always liked the RBV, but never RB by itself. I'll try it again. I heard the Sobe drinks are good too. Never thought this thread would be this popular. Kick Ass!

Sobe/No Fear
Rip It - Power
Rockstar Juiced - Orange
Lost - the regular one
The Vitamin Energys by Vitamin Water are good too

I was hooked on Rockstar for a while. they are just so damn bad for you. no caffeine for me now.
I had hit those Bookoos (sp?) for a while. mainly because I got two free cases shipped from their website. not sure if they still ship you freebies or not.

If you really want to get ampped try Redline.

It tastes like crap but i works like no other drink. Only drink half a bottle your first time. This crap is really really really strong it was original only sold in health stores (GNC etc)but now you can find it a t gas stations. Warning this stuff will make you sick on a empty stomach

Quad Grande Cappuccino does the job for me if it's an early morning and not too hot out yet. Otherwise, it's Reb Bull FTW.

all right, if you guys like the energy drink feel, and looking for the next big caffeine buzz, here is what you do. you cant buy energy drinks marketed in standard US markets. Go to china town or your areas asian supermarket area. Here you can buy the original "RedBull" from Thailand (even though they dont call it redbull, its called something else but the Austrians named it redbull because of the logo). Its in screw top bottles. You cant read the labels, but you will recognize the bull logo. This stuff is far more potent than any of the canned products we get. half of one of these had my big self bouncing off the walls, and shaking in my bed at night, haha!

Redline is some potent stuff. I play lacrosse and football for my high school and a lot of us will drink half a redline before the game and the rest at half time..The only place that I know to find it though is at like GNC or Smoothie King and or vitamin shops..

Go with the green monster XXL or the green monsters with the twist off tops if they still make them. They're relatively inexpensive and you get a lot in that can.

the best drink ever was called von dutch. rockstar made it as a promo for the von dutch clothing company but they only made very few. they didnt last very long in my area cuz everytime the rep would be around we would have about 6 cases dropped off on our front porch.

3 shots of Peet's Arabian Mocha Java over ice and about 8 ounces of Coke Zero. The carbonation is like main lining the caffeine but for your guts instead. Leaves less track marks that way.

Monster's are for afternoon snacks with the kidos.

#2 on my list was Sobe Adrenaline Rush - This drink is great tasting, and I got a great buzz from it. Still going at about 3 hours. Much better than Rockstar. Tomorrow will be Monster Blue (Low Carb).

Funny how so many think energy drinks are bad for you. If you chose a low sodium, sugar free version, you get the same buzz, and there's little to no negative effect to your health. Now if you drink the sugar laden, sodium pounding drinks, you get what you get.

For the average healthy person an early AM energy drink is probably not a huge health concern. However it's not a bad idea to know what you are drinking. I hope this info is a start for anyone interested in the debate over "good or bad for ya". The real health concern is the caffeine and additional stimulants "Energy" in the Energy drink. Most energy drinks contain in excess of 80mg of caffeine per 8oz. To put that in prospective a Pepsi contains about 35mg and a cup of coffee contains about 75mg. Most people consume approx 300mg of caffeine a day. Some differences with the energy drink vs. a cup of hot coffee is how we consume it. Sips over time vs. slam it before your pull. Here is an example, one can of Red Bull contains about 80mg of caffeine, 1000mg of taurine and 600 mg of glucuronolactone. Taurine and glucuronolactone in combination with caffeine act to increase the stimulant effect. Caffeine is found in a lot of food sources but in high concentrated doses can result in some health effects. If you are sensitive to caffeine you could have anxiety, palpitations and irritability with small amounts. If you have a cardiac history, caffeine may have very unhealthy side effects. A Caffeine stimulant causes an increased heart rate (with possible irregularities), increased blood pressure and acts as a diuretic causing you to urinate and can lead to dehydration. All of which are increased with heat exposure and exertion like boarding. Like everything else I guess the bottom line is to drink them in moderation, stay healthy and hydrated and get as many riding days as possible!

I had 3 1/2 Monster blue's one day at an outdoor trade show in the summer before my stomach couldn't take anymore...I think I've had maybe 1 since that day. Throwing up nothing but monster is the grossest thing ever! The smell will haunt me until I die...
