1. not being able to ride 'cause of wallys?

2. you're riding, it's super butter, you do a trick, then you can't ride anymore 'cause you hurt your back?

poser & heavy, i hurt my back in that lame excuse of a run i took in bako. it wasn't that bad until i rode today. after a couple grabs and such, i took it big. when i landed, my back hurt. i dropped the handle, chilled a bit and tried to ride again. did a w2w, dropped the handle and called it a day. i'm going through spasms right now.

Nick, Wally's are idiots on the water who shouldn't be out there messing up butter water. Guys doing power turns, tubers, jet skiers, guys who slow down to 12 mph when they pass you while you are picking up a rider instead of hauling ass past you but they think they are doing you a favor by slowing down when they dont' realize that they are making a bigger wake...

Back injuries are the worst. I'm a year and a half off one, and yesterday for the first time in a long time was throwing 1's railing as hard as I could at the wake. Lets just say my back doesn't feel so great today.

I think this is worse....

I woke up to this on Lake Holden this morning.

I have Greg Necrasson on the dock strapping in. A Wally, at 7:40 in the morning, drives a huge circle around the lake. power turning for his rider, who can't even clear the wake. I wanted to strangle someone....

To answer your question Joe, the Back thing gets my vote.

Can't say i have ever met any "Wallys"

I have a hard enough time finding ANY people to go out boarding with as it is... even when a had (have) access to my Dad's boat. "wakeboarding is for pussies who cant take the falls on concrete or ice and snow..." was the common comment i got from kids i grew up with when i talked to them about going wakeboarding (funny thing is... now a lot of them wakeboard)

I bet there is/ has been some people who think i am a "Wally," approaching them with "my stick and my own rope and gear" (not paid by my parent's card) for a ride on their boat on days when i have no access to a boat. that vid posted above in some ways (stressing "SOME") reminds me of myself.

Never had a seriously aching back, and i have never met a Wally, (in the sense that i am understanding from previous posts) so i cant compare. BUT i do think that not being able to find a more permanent friend/crew (some of the powell empolyees are cool, but they'll be gone soon) that is as passionate about wake as i am to go boarding with is Possibly THE ABSOLUTE WORST thing i have experienced, wake related.

Luckily I have all you guys here on Wake World to help me feel less... uhh... alone. }

wally is the term for like a non wakeboard boat that is trashing the water from bad driving... you cant be a 'wally' if you dont have a boat.... i would call it a bum if you ask for rides like that but whatever gets it done..

Matt Coldren- you can be a wally WITH a wakeboard boat as well. i see just as many wallys with wakeboard boats as without wakeboard boats. but ya same idea

I would rather hurt my back on the water than tear ligaments in my foot and knee at work like I did Monday. My seasons done.

Even IF i did have a boat of my own i would still be a "bum." I would still have to drive down to the lake and ask random people to be my flag person or *uhhh gasp* to drive my boat for me.... possibly asking a "wally" to do either one.

It's not injuries, it's not wallys, it's being next to one of the best lakes on earth with a nearly non-existant local wake scene... that's worse, for me, IMO. But, still there is no other place i'd rather be. (maybe promoting wake in Taiwan, maybe, but only temporary)

But as for correct boat driving, i have passed on the skills learned on these forums and mags and such to all my friends at aramark (powell). fewer and fewer wallys. we just need to go out and educate 'em
