I am looking at a 93 ski nautique. Are these boats with a tower good for Wakeboarding. It has 285 hsp, inboard motor.

I had one for four years. We put a tower on it and plummed in ballast hoses. It puts out a wake similar to the 210, only smaller. It would be a good starter boat for sure. The SN2001 (1982-1989) is better for riding.

I like mine! Weighted and reproped, it makes a nice wake. Take the weight out and it has a world class ski wake. Great crossover boat.

Any other thoughts on this boat. I am seriously considering buying it. Anyone have any issues with this year Ski Nautique? Anything I should check for specifically?

I'd look to see if it has the electronic ignition or has been converted to a distributer. You can't get parts for the electronic ignition if/when it goes bad. It's not a positive or negitive, just be aware. Also look at the dash and circuit breakers. When I got rid of mine, the mounting holes were starting to fail, made the dash real loose. The circuit breakers also fail and are ~$20 a piece. Other than that, do the other common things when looking at a used boat, compression test, water test, etc.

285 HP Pro Boss is a great torquey motor, should have Pro tec ignition w/ coil pacs. 93 was first year without wooden stringers so no dry rot on the 93. It has more room than a 2001. Weighted it will have a good shaped wake, just not as steep as 2001 w/ same weight. Still have a great ski wake w/o weight.
