...builder to build a Wakesurf specific boat? In other words who will have the first boat strictly designed for surfing. Like most who surf I often wish we didnt need an extra ton of weight and pumps to depend on. Wish it was all stock and hidden in the bowels of the boats structure.

While at a boat show a Mastercraft rep said that they are in the process of designing a surfboat, and that it would probably be released as an '09 model..

I spoke with the Centurion rep tonight at the boat show and he said they had some stuff in the works that would really set them apart. He talked about getting rid of the need for ballast by improving hull designs. It should be interesting in the coming years. The local Malibu dealer told me one day that he has sold an increasing number of wakesurf boards.

One of if not the fastest growing sport from what I understand. I think either the 2009-10 model years will bring out the surf specific models. My thinking is that whoever gets it and nails it, will see sales rocket.
