Gator boards seems to have a great team and is a rider owned company from someone who has a rich history in the sport. I see a lot of advertisement from them and yet, I rarely see any of their boards or products discussed. Even O'brien, which is a great company but not as popular as LF or HL, gets plenty of discussion with the Natural, Cartel, Etc. Just wondering why Gator boards doesn't seem to be very popular.

Because their product is that good, its implied perfection, so no discussion needed.

Ya, they still have my favorite video dealio out there. I love how they roll hard in the SAN and throw down...I wish I knew where it was filmed..Somewhere in Florida I guess...I love the cops in the video too. The video is getting old and I need a new one though. I think Sublime would go in the video instead of the stuff they used...

I need a new video and throw some Harris in there too!

I just bought a 144 Gator for me and a 137 Legend for my son. Team boots for both. Can't wait to charge the wake.

Gator boards obviously doesn't have the advertising/marketing budget that ronix/cwb/hype/lf/etc has, so you won't see as many people talking about them.

W O M

Word of mouth!!!

O'Brien does very little advertising but they got a couple of fanatical people that like riding there stuff who can't seem to shutup....ohh wait a minute, that's me

If you have a good product and you can get people to try it out then WOM is as good as any ad. in a magazine. It doesn't take a lot of Hype...erlite, just a good product and good service.

word of mouth will get you some sales, but it won't get people hyping your product like they were with ronix before the stuff even came out.

This is going to sound stupid and offensive [accidental] but i never really thought gator was that good. I rode the 04[?] skin and it was the most continious rocker there is. it looks like it barely even curves. im probobly wrong though. their boards seem like theyre kinda just for cruisin' because its a very comfortable ride but seems like no pop, like an '86 Harley Electric Glide against a Yamaha YZF.

what about slingshot. up until the very very recent all the "hype" has been WOM. (i supose the shear uniqueness of the design has brought hype though)

well there are like 5 people on here hyping slingshot, but not everybody is running to the store buying them

I am currently on a harris 142, because I wanted a board with an extreme 3 stage rocker, it is a pretty decent board, not a new design by any stretch, and gets the job done for me. plus I got it on ebay last year brand new for $99. haha

I went in to off axis, let me say im not goin there again [it's a great store, but...] i went in there and looked like a complete idiot. i askes if the slingshots were kiteboards! then im just kinda lookin around, and while im doin that, my mom, tries to get me sponsored by them, tellin them my best trick is a butterslide! yea....

I agree with jakober! I cannot stop telling people how sick the O'brien Line is!

I think that Word of Mouth is almost a better way to build industry buzz than any expensive marketing campaign. Just my MO tho-

I rode the 135 caddy for six months and loved it. I only switched because I needed a bigger board.
