Though I don't think it is news-worthy, it is another knock against most of the PWC community!

Hey Kevin,

I think it's news-worthy. I like to hear about it when such an annoying freak of nature gets into trouble.

In any case, I don't think it is a knock against any PWC community. I think it just illustrates the fact that most PWC users are not part of any kind of community at all. They are just weekend warriors who see a Waverunner as just another thrill ride: the same as a ride at Six-Flags and requiring the same amount of training and responsibility.

I'm sure there is a respectable PWC community out there somewhere (people who know what they are doing and respect other lake users) but I'm sure it is tiny compared to the vast numbers of idiots you see out there every day.

I was pulling into the marina in my boat the other day after a day on the water when a Seadoo
operated by a guy in his 40's with a young child on his lap came within 5 feet of hitting my boat after doing Donuts in the mouth of the channel.
He pulled into the dock at the same time as I did and I commented to him how dangerous his driving was. He launched into a tirade of foul language, saying I was dangerous for almost hitting him. ( I was idling in at approx. 4mph)
Anyway... this Jack*ss is swearing and yelling with this 4-5 year old on his lap, and tons of people on the dock. I finally told him that he was driving a Jet Ski because he wasnt smart enough to operate a REAL boat. That got a standing ovation from the others on the dock.
I enjoy riding PWC's, but I have to admit...it seems the majority of riders dont think that the rules of the water apply to them.

I totally agree with you Kirk. PWCs are just like gnats, buzzing around, driving erratically, getting too close to my boat when I'm underway and pulling a skier, etc. They don't seem to understand that they are motorboats too.

I know if Justin Guarini (or Kelly Clarkson for that matter) came sliding up the bank anywhere near my kid, my friends, or myself, he'd be carrying his teeth home in his pocket.

IMHO, i don't think it's newsworthy either. only thing that struck me was that the tried to reach Clarkson for comment? GMAFB.

Next time we go to the delta I want to take a 5gal bucket of water balloons. I'd love to nail one of those suckers that comes to close to my boat and skier/boarder.
