We had a '99 21v RE that seemed to work best with most of the weight up front (600lbs). One 550 sack at base of rear seat between cup holders/speakers. No weight in the back storage and TAPS set between 3-4. The wake will always wash with that hull style but this config was probably the least washy/bothersome for us........

Good Luck.........

I ride behind one quite a bit that has 350 on each side of the engine, pushed up closer towards the middle of the boat and 550 in the bow walkway. With taps set at 2-3 there is no wash and it's nice and firm.

I had a 2000 21V and if you follow this weight combo, the wake will stay clean.

1. One 200 pound sack (Fly High side sacks) under each bow cushion in the front.
2. One 500 pound sack in each rear lock, but here is the key. Push the sacks as far forward under the rear seats as you can. About 1/2 of the sack will be sticking out into the rear storage.

For some reason this setup is the best for that boat. With those old hulls the boat doesn't like much weight in the back, so this keeps the weight more toward the middle. I played around with all types of setups and this was the best.
