No thanks, can be duplicated for less and there is a new sport model coming out. Grant I would bet you could do as nice/nicer work after seeing what you go through to put a couple small amps on your boat.

A New Esclade cost's like $68K so all that work for $32k is a pretty good deal IMO
Old     (johnsvt)      Join Date: Dec 2006       04-02-2007, 4:15 PM Reply
List is 68k invoice is 63k minus 2-3k rebate so 60k plus tax and tags.

E-wing. I guess you have bought one latley so you know what they sell for. Tax is close to $5000. The price of $68 I said was OTD. It was for a fully loaded ESV here in Cali that we bought for my Dad a few months back thats how I came up with my quote. Im sure they have come down in price. $100k for something like that seems high if your not aware of what things realy cost or you dont care. I wouldnt drop $100 on that thing but Im not in the market for that type of rig. However if that was somthing your were thinking of building $100K seems resonable. Does anyone know what a Pair of 26 Asanti wheels sells for $
and that you could drop 15-20 in a system like that in no time. I know that Strut grill isnt cheep like $2000. That stuff adds up quick. But Like I said if you not in the market for somthing like that or its not your style $100k seems a bit high.

What's the added resale on a $2K Strut grill in 2 years, $100?

Not impressed, of course it's American and a SUV

looks cool but not worth 100k

Something tells me your Escalade is going to put that one to shame in time Grant, right....? All that thing does is give you ideas ideas and ideas! I don't doubt you already have a game plan down for yours and it's expanding everyday!

timmy - in that size tire (305/30R26) there are ~ 3 choices. Kumho Ecsta STX $799, Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico $799 and Hankook Ventus ST $805.

I think its a great deal if it were new. A supercharged Range Rover is in the same ball park and doesn't have half the bells and whistles that Slade has. I'm having a hard time with the used part, but if the dealer offered that I would buy in a heartbeat.
Old     (timmy)      Join Date: Jul 2001       04-02-2007, 7:20 PM Reply
ahh now I understand. I have kumhos but I bought them because they were cheap and I don't need the ability to go 159 mph. haha

remember g. PLEASE NO LED's ON THE CADDIE. Yea lets see if BLING can spring for some 26 Asantis. hell if your bling step up to 30's PLAYER
Old     (tommyg)      Join Date: Apr 2002       04-02-2007, 7:26 PM Reply
a great deal? all a question of taste I guess. I think that thing looks like crap, but I guess I'm just getting old.

Throwing those rims on and lowering it like that really takes the "utility" out of sport utility.

Grant I didn't mean to offend I guess I misunderstood and didn't realize you meant out the door. After looking at the car I just think they are trying to make some good money on that one, you know they don't pay what we pay for accessories. I actually think if I gave you 100k you would be able to build something cooler. How do I know pricing...well my dealership is close enough to Philly so I/we have a couple famous/infamous clients that actually roll pimped out vehicles such as escalades, hummers, bentleys, etc, etc. No, I probably wouldn't buy an escalade I would look silly, being a redneck and all, gettin out of one of those and also no one wants to buy a car from a guy who is drivin' an escalade either.

Not impressed either. It does look like crap, but, an a$$ for every seat!

Ewing: no offence taken. I just laugh at people sometimes. Lots of people dont have the slightest Idea what things cost. Most people that are into these types of things know exactley what its worth. Like I said if you were in the market for a show car sutch as this $100K wouldnt be that bad of a deal. Some people might think its a deal. Example your filling your boat up at the gas station. Some old timer rolls up an ask's Hey how much does a boat like that cost?
You say $60 grand. And the old fella almost has a heart attack. He has no Idea what that things worth because he is not into them and dosent know what things cost. Now who Here is a expert and knows what somthing like this cost's to put together????????????????????????

Thats a great example G. I wa sin a parking lot with my R6 after I first got it. Older guy walks up says wow, that is one sweet looking bike. Asks, "Whats the horsepower on that thing, 45?" I said, try about a 100hp. His mouth just dropped, Then he asks, what size is it? I say 600cc. He asks how much does it weigh? I say around 400.

He was totally floored. He asked what do you call something like that? I replied, Crotch Rocket! Then he proceeds to tell me about his 81 Yammy with 28 horsepower.

my .02... if i was going to drop 100k on a vehicle, it would be more like a couple year old 911 turbo or a new AMG. Trucks/SUVs are for pulling boats and getting dirty.

Not my preference, but different strokes for different folks. Personally I'd take half that money a put it into a Dodge with a Cummins and spend the rest on a new wake boat!

That guys probably got close to 200k into that thing. Definitely impressive. Different strokes for different folks though... I kinda think that wrecks a perfectly great stock truck although I guess if it's done righ it may be ok. I guess I'm biased since everytime I'm working on a modded vehicle like that the wiring is a nightmare and nothing is accessible. A nice set of 24's and a little extra bump and I'd be stoked.

The main thing I don't get, though, is the doors.. WTF. It's not a Lamborghini, so why hack some gullwing doors into it. It's goofy how they have to be opened out, then up. I'm OK with doors that were designed to be opened out. If it was an exotic it'd be a different story.

For my hundo-K I'd go with a one year old escalade, 2 year old X-star and a 5 year old Ducati, and call it even.

Cool ride though. I'm sure some wanna-be athlete will snatch that thing up. LOL!!

Worst part about the Gallardo, no Lamborghini doors. Who buys a Lamborghini without Lamborghini doors?

Okay just for arguments sake I think the truck does look cool, but was told it is totally useless to tow with. I called one of my boys that can do the work on this truck and let me breakdown the general cost on the parts and just guess on the stereo

exhaust - 1200
Door kit - 1500
Grill - 3000
Air ride - 1100
controller for air ride - 600
Hedliner - 1000
26's - 6-8000
Stereo - 10k+

Parts - 26400 in parts plus labor

I have no idea what labor would be because every shop is different. Most of the stuff is simple bolt on stuff not ultra custom imo like a Foose street rod. What is a used escalade worth to trade - 53k then all the crap that is done might be worth half. That is why I would say 100k is too high.

Also have helped two customers with lambo doors one was an 03 escalade...they don't work all that good.

EvilOne: I like the Gilardo (Lambo with out the vertical Doors) better than the Murci (Lambo with the vertical doors). IMO they are cool the way they look and work But I guess its from years of getting in and out of a car with normal doors that vertical doors seem some what un familiar. The Lambo doors on the Esclade are kinda Ghetto IMO they open or swing out like a normal door at first and then they swing up. So I guess they are not a true vertical door. Also when you have a huge door like the one on the Esclade you have to kinda duck to get under it.
As Little Sis says "Decoration ONLY"

hmmm, why does everyone call them Lambo doors, isn't that sort of an insult to one of the greatest cars of all time the Mercedes 300SL
Old     (ryan27r)      Join Date: Oct 2006       04-03-2007, 3:20 PM Reply
The 300 sl had more of a gull wing not vertical

I agree Grant...decoration only. Lambo is what us Ghetto rednecks call them doors.

Up here in Alberta sticker price on an Escalade is 90-95 thousand, no BS, seen one ESV with a sticker of 103 thousand. Welcome to Canada.

Shane.... Like what Ryan said. Although the 300SL is one of the coolest cars ever made. They've got the price tag to back it up these days. I dated a girl whose dad let her take his 300SL to her senior ball. I couldn't believe it.

Rather purchase a brand spankin' new fully loaded X-star and a used Chevy for that price. Then still have some left over for some gas.

the reason lambos and other "super" cars have those doors are because the are too wide. getto on anything else.
