My son wants to start getting into wake surfing and I need help. He is 150 pounds and 6'3". What size board should I look for and any recommendations? I was going to look around for something used and was told island boards but any other recommends?

I found a cwb blackjack for pretty cheap on ebay but again do not know what to look for.

What style of ridding? Surf or Skim? beginner, intermediate or pro? Price range?

surf. beginner. i want to stay a bit on the cheaper side as i believe once he gets better he will want a more advanced board.

Ok,

Two things to consider the first being that kids learn and progress fast so the basic boards don't really last long. The flipside is you will always need a "boat Board"

The second is that you will probably pay $300.00 for a wakeboard brand wakesurf board, the high end advanced boards from folks like Shred Stixx, Soulcraft, Brigade, Walker etc etc usually run from $6-800 and if he enjoys it you will wind up there anyway.

If you still want to go your original route, check out sites like EVO, the have a very nice Ronix Koal for a great price right now. It will serve you well.

5' should be fine, if Dad is under 195 he should be ride it too!

6'5" and 235 pounds
