As stated, i`m looking at a 138, i`m 5'10 right at 200 lbs. Should I be looking at a larger board? Would a 138 be no good for me in any way? Or more a 140 and up foresure?

you could get away with anything between a 138 and a 142. i weigh a little less then you, and i ride a 139. and i ride my dads 142 all the time and it doesnt feel big at all. if the board your looking at has a 140-142 size. i recommend it. youll be happy you did in the long run

Yeah I would get a 140 or larger. What will happen is that a smaller board will be really out of control feeling. It will also be hard for some one your size to land on a smaller board with less surface area, you will have a tendancy to go out the front on a smaller board.

CWB Transcend or LF Watson have sparked my interest. I`m a newb got up easy on a old skool 140 Cruiser and go outside the wake and was figuring out how to come back in. Only got to ride a few times, no problems staying up. I`m 30 so I need a board that is going to last me sometime and can do basically everything. If someone has a better suggestion i`m up for it. I do not want to go to a board that will be too much for me like the One/Lyman I had my eyes set on before, or a board that needs to be changed a year or two from now.

142 watson for sure. its a killer board. thats what my dad rides and the 142 feels great. so i would go with that. i cant say much for the transcend. ive never ridden one, but i see people with them all the time. but the only bummer, is ive heard more about broken transcends then any other board. and the watson should last you a really long time. once you get the jumping, and feel good on the board. it has killer pop, its easy to kick around, and holds an edge like no other board ive ridden

Man I would Suggest an O'brien Player, that board is easy to ride, predictable, and clean feeling. I have seen it really up a lot of peoples games.

David, those broken Transcends are usually the Platty's. The foam core is solid. 143 would be fine Dan.

i havnt looked at the transcend. but i thought all of them where plattinum. i didnt know there was a regular and a platinum. but i know why they break. and i think a 143 would be to big. we have a 143 lyman. and a 142 watson. and i ride a 139 lyman. and the 143 feels huge. my dad is 6'6'' and he thinks the 143 feels big. it might just be the lyman that feels like that. or it might be just the size. and isnt the covin a flex board?

I think 139-142 is the size for me. If I lose a few pounds I do not want to go too big on the board. Really looking at a good deal on a Watson/Transcend....

i would go with a 141 or 142. i weigh about 185 ish. and a 142 feels great. so even if you lost a few pounds. you will still be happy with it. the watson is supper fun. i cant talk for the 2010 watson. but the 09 and previous are a blast.

The 142 Transcend would be perfect, I'm a little dude and ride the 138 but have been thinking about going for the 142 for the soft landings and nice long edge. My buddy went from his Watson to a Transcend and has not looked back. A nice thing about the Transcend is the fin configuration that allows you to really adjust the ride, from grippy to wicked loose.
