I have a 2002 V-208 Sky Supreme. It runs stock ballast and 500 lbs of lead. I have seen in a few profiles other Supreme owners. I just wanted to hear how much weight you guys run in your boat and where you place it??

I have a '04 V208. We run stock ballast tank and put fat sac (300-350 lbs) in the aisle way in the bow. I works out really nice.

We run the factory ballast in the rear...another 300 on each side and then probably 400 in the bow. also have a few in the middle to dial in the wake

I have a V220. I have plumbed in extra ballast. Total weight in the rear is 1900lbs. Total weight in the front is 1200lbs. Total overall weight 3100lbs. Can run full ballast, full tank of gas and 6 passengers before I run into planing problems. I run a 10.5 pitch 3 blade ACME prop. Runs much higher in RPMs. But Hole shot is great and holds speed well!

I have an 07 v220 and run stock ballast in the rear, two extra fat buddies in the rear compartments, one big sack on the floor(parallel to the rear bench) and one big sack in the bow, plus a few homies on both sides of the back bench. Speed 23 - all good - wake is super clean - never crumbles! I noticed with my ride that the wake is a bit bigger when all the weight is in the rear, I only put weight in the front when necessary.

Sorry for the hijack, but how do you guys load up for surfing?

For surfing.. I find the drivers side is a kick a$$ surfing wake at 11mph... with 1000lbs ballast in drivers side rear locker... and peeps on the same side! NOTHING IN THE FRONT!!!

Mark,

Great question. I do not know if differen models will perform the same, but my friends v230 has had a lot of trouble getting a good surf wake on the port side. We tried more or less in the front and have had no luck...any suggestions? We haven't tried Zero weight in the front yet, maybe that is the ticket.

I do left rear ballast, fat buddy in left rear compartment, Big sack on top of left bench seat, and another fat buddy on the floor, left side and a homboy on top of the deck on the left. Nothing in front, 11 mph, pretty nice.

V230!!!!! It is impossible to get a surf or wakeboard wake... it is a nice big boat to do multi sport with average performance... test drive.. test drive... test drive... V220 and V208 are the way to go... that V230.. I liked how big it was... but no matter what I did... couldnt get a good wake!

I have a V208 and this weighting seems to produce a nice wake:

ballast full 400-450 lbs (port / starbord)
500 lbs of lead on same side
200 lbs in the bow to extend the pocket
and stack everyone in the boat

this creates a nice clean wake with a good pocket at about 10 to 10.6 mph. The wake behind the V208 is steep but it makes it ideal for spins and airs. Give it a shot

Best of luck
