I have an '88 2001 and I'm looking for a good place to mount my amps JL 500/1 & 450/4. I was thinking about on the kick plate under the dash and maybe an amp enclosure with a couple of fans in case the area ever gets wet. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have the front closed bow air intake/vent, you gotta watch out for water coming in that way. I've seen some boats with amps mounted way up under the gunnels. That seems to work well as long as your rub rail and hull/top cap seam doesn't leak.

I mounted mine on the side of the kick plate. Some water may get in there, but I haven't noticed it. No problems here. Hell its a boat, its going to get wet. I always buy a warranty with my stereo equipment from Best Buy or Circuit City. Once the moisture ruins it, you just take it back and they give you another.
