i was riding between lakes and ran across kyle schmit in his boat. i waved he saw us and didn't wave or reply. are they really that stuck up? when you run across them at the contests they are nice as can be , but in person there not
WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?

maybe he didn't see you? unless you have some for of ESP you don't know if he saw you.
Old     (eubanks01)      Join Date: Jun 2001       06-07-2007, 2:08 PM Reply
Maybe he didn't wave because you were either wearing the hated orange flotation device or your riding was really bad!

Ok, I'm kidding. I went to The Wakeboard Camp and Kyle was a very nice guy. Maybe he was in a bad mood, didn't see you, etc. I'm sure this isn't the first (or last time) you'll wave at someone on the lake that won't return the favor. Don't sweat it man.

Maybe he didn't like the way that you waved
Old     (eubanks01)      Join Date: Jun 2001       06-07-2007, 2:09 PM Reply
Yeah, most people don't like being waved at if it's only your middle finger sticking up.

they could at least wave it back!

are you sure he saw you? sometimes I'd be looking at one direction but thinking about other things and Im not paying attention at whats happening directly in front of me.

Kyle is one of the nicest riders out there. I've seen him out and about after not seeing him for a year and he recognized me and remembered my name.

yea i do it too that is a possibility . i met him at the manfactures party a couple weeks ago and he was nice . i must have caught him on a bad day . and he can't miss me putting by cause my boat is the sane color and everything but i have tinted windows on mine

Every Pro I have ever met is super nice. In Kyle's defense you can't wave at everybody you see on the water. If we did that we would be waving all day. So i wouldn't pass judgement on him just cause he didn't wave.

What difference does it make that he's a pro?

I generally only wave at people I know and no one's complained so far! Upload

one of my buddies went to a PWT stop and he said he saw all his favorite pros and they all waved....except froggy. he said Soven didnt acknowledge him or anything

Dude, you should never judge anyone from a 5 second interaction (or lack thereof). I wave to every fisherman I see, and I usually only get one wave back out of a hundred. And they can't all be a-holes...right?
Old     (eubanks01)      Join Date: Jun 2001       06-07-2007, 8:52 PM Reply
I was at this pro contest once and I was waving like crazy during Murray's 2nd pass in the semi-finals. He never waved back nor did he even look up at me. I was sreaming from the shore...but nothing. And I thought he was a stand up guy?!
Old     (closedtoe)      Join Date: Jan 2007       06-07-2007, 8:55 PM Reply
Wasn't he riding during his second pass?
He was probably focusing on riding and didn't notice you
Old     (wake_pirate)      Join Date: Mar 2007       06-07-2007, 9:44 PM Reply
Was he wakeboarding? or WakeParading?
Old     (dlwsrider)      Join Date: Apr 2007       06-07-2007, 9:56 PM Reply
hahaha, i dont even notice theres a boat on my second pass normally

i think it is pretty obvious that kyle was looking at the "hotties" in your boat and didn't notice you waving. if you want the pros to notice you, leave the chicks at home next time....
Old     (ronnyboy27)      Join Date: Nov 2005       06-08-2007, 8:03 AM Reply
DTB - Did you just suggest that cut off his shlong. Cause, "leave the chicks at home next time" is just about the same thing. That's always my response when people suggest I sell my boat to get out of debt. There are needs and wants in life. Wakeboarding with hot chicks is a need. LOL

I wave at fisherman all the time; they never wave back.

Does not waving back render a person to be stuck up?
Old     (wakeboardnchica)      Join Date: Oct 2005       06-08-2007, 4:16 PM Reply
dude chill

every pro i've ever met has been insanely nice. He probably just didn't see you

Um, Ron, I hope you're picking up the sarcasm, cause I'm laying it on pretty thick....

Why do people feel inclined to wave at strangers in boats? I don't wave to everyone I drive past in my car.

Kyle is a really good guy. He probably didn't see you. I wave at people all the time and never get a response.

but seriously, don't take it personal... have you ever missed someone trying to get your attention?

Eubanks,
i am probably gunna go to the Wakeboard Camp this summer...it all depends on if we can get somebody to buy our old boat. did u like it? was the teaching good? wat kind of atmosphere was it? laidback? or serius? *end hijack*

There is something very fruity cocktails w/umbrellas and dolphin short wearing; about this thread on "waving."
Couldn't care less about waving, who waves anymore? Chaka is much better, maybe try the dual finger (rocked slightly to the side for style) "Peace," hell, mix it up and drop a heavy metal goathead sign, even the never-gets-old thumbs up, but a "wave?" Save the wave for Parades and Ms. American contest, and please, don't tell anyone about a "none" waver. Now, if they don't acknowledge the throwing of the Chaka, it's fine to fight. No weapons though, keep it clean.
Back to the ^hijack above on camps.

You are lucky he didnt return the wave. If he would have, your hotties might have "jumped ship"...

Hey guys most if not all of the pro riders are pretty cool, they are very friendly, but believe it or not they can be humble and shy too, so if they are not quick to return the wave most of the time it's because they are like...hmmm why would that dude be waving at me....Kyle is a GREAT guy and you should not have taken offense to his actions...he is quiet, hell I hardly talk to him but I know he means well and loves the sport....so enough bashing the bros brosef.

Well said Zane. It would take some getting use to i would imagine, everyone knows you and waves and you really don't know them or expect anything from them. Plus, after all its only a wave!! :-)
