Probably, especially since he doesn't leave a phone number in the ad. If you're interested I'd send your phone number and talk to the guy, find out what the deal is and if it's for real go see it, pay cash and leave with boat and title in hand. Make sure title matches the HIN and name on title matches his ID. Likely what will happen is you'll never get a call.

I'd setup a separate email address through gmail or whatever to communicate with them just to be safe. Should keep spam emails to a minimum.

There was a 2001 MC X-Star listed for $10,000 on OIB last Wednesday. From the one picture it looked fairly nice, was sittting on a nice looking tandem trailer, had a tower with speakers and boardracks, it didn't look stripped or destroyed, ad said it came with boatcover, pp, ballast, etc. I saw it Friday morning. Definitely assumed it was too good to be true, but just in case I sent an email to the seller with a bunch of questions. He replied that someone had already put a deposit on the boat the night before, and the ad is gone from OIB now.

So either it was a scam that they gave up on when I asked a bunch of questions, or else I missed out on an awesome deal.
