Now that I have your attention I need some help. I need any advice on building a floating slider that is 30-40 foot long, and a ride on. Here are some specific questions:

How long?

What will it cost?

What angle for ride on section?

What material? (this is budget).

What do I float it with? (If it's barrels, where do I get it and how much do the cost?)

Also if anyone has pics of sliders liek this, or plans, or jus pics of floater designs lemme know. Hopefully I'll have a diagram of my plan coming soon. Thanks, Greg

How long? 30-40 isn't that what you want?

What will it cost? depends on size and materials

What angle for ride on section?flat...that works the best...

What material? (this is budget). trex at lowes or HD

What do I float it with? (If it's barrels, where do I get it and how much do the cost?) barrels or foam...varrels from a car wash, strayform is avil in 4x8 sheets and 1 1/2 inc h thick just get like 4 of them for each 8 ft section

Is 30-40 ft long enough? Like will it be to short to even notice I'm riding it?

Think my materials are barrels (free hopefully), scrap wood and 2x4's, trex (is this expensive?), then random stuff liek wood sealer and paint. Budget is about 300.

Thanks for the advice, anyone else or any pics of how to attach the barrels to teh slider section would help.

Back story as copied and pasted from wakeutah.com

Taylor is always thinking of something to do for the wakeboard community and this year he went all out! It's the TBI Slider! It can be trailered to any lake, launched and towed to a location. The ramps that are stored inside are easily assembled with 8 bolts. It's built on a 21i Tige hull. It was a customer's boat that got re-po'd by the bank. Then the bank tried to sell it and it got stolen. It was later found in a field totally stripped! So the bank gave it to Taylor and it sat in the boat yard for 2 years. A couple months ago Taylor had the idea to build a slider onto the hull. Jason Coop designed it and Mike Sailors, one of the mechanics at Taylor's boats built it. This thing specs out at 8' tall, 18 feet up ramp, 21.5' flat bar, 16' down ramp! WakeUtah plans to have this thing at as many of our events as possible!

The Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, KY sells their used (empty) 40-gallon whiskey barrels for $20 apiece. You may get splinters, but at least they're self-disinfecting.
