Hey Sherman what racks are on the top bars of the tower? got any picts for me. I definitly need 2nd set of racks and only thing that I have found are the Wake Designs which I consider crap and Bat Racks which are priced really high.

My Wake Design racks have been bullet-proof. I replace the rubber at the start of the season to protect the edges of the boards and they're good to go. Myself, I don't like the Bat Racks because the grooves are different length, so the bottom board is not held in tight by the cord. A simple design flaw that needs to be corrected. If you're going to only have one cord to hold two boards, then make the grooves the same length. They look great though.

Never had a problem with the BatRacks. Have even forgotten to strap the boards down several times, even after multiple double ups, boards never came out.

Fruit Cake, who ever said anything about boards coming out? Go strap two boards in a Bat Rack and see how loose the bottom board is, then come back and tell me it's not a poor design.

The V210 doesn't need stacks to produce a big wake. 700 pound sac in the floor, 550 pounds of lead under the bow seats & 350 pound tanks in the back. All hidden, all automatic. I think we had 4 or 5 guys in the boat when those photos were taken.

Heres a photo from yesterday when we had a "family day" We had 6 adults & 6 kids on board & ballast was 3/4 full. It was the biggest wake I have ever hit. I'm 6 foot & 200 pounds & ride @ 23mph - 80 foot. The wake looks a bit crunchy in the photo but it was still clean to ride, I think the wind & chop blew it out a bit in the shot. It does show the beefiness of the wake. Awesome.

Beautiful boats guys. The flatbottoms and other hotrods make an old gearhead guy like me smile.
I will try to add some garage shots when I figure out how to do it.
Being new to the inboard world, and excited about our "new to us" 98 DLX, I was surpised to find that there is no Sanger Owners.com like some of the other brands out there. With all the loyalty and enthusiasm this boat has inspired over the years, you would think there would be....

Dave, sweet V210. It's ironic that you post a picture that proves my point in my above post about Bat Racks being a poor design. It's too bad too cuz it's one of my favorite looking racks out there. So FRUIT CAKE, take a good look at the Belmont board with the Highbacks. See how it's slid all the way back and twisting out? It's a simple mistake on Skylon's part. If you're going to have one cord, the top and bottom groove's need to be the same depth. I think we're done here huh FRUIT CAKE?

You are really trying to sell this one, eh, Sparky? Not buying it. The only thing that picture means is that maybe the rider stuft his board in the rack in a hurry. I have left the straps OFF many times, and NEITHER board even came close to exiting the rack. Maybe stoned people should not be operating board racks, eh, Sparky?
Old     (wake_upppp)      Join Date: Nov 2003       01-04-2005, 7:56 PM Reply
Yeah, the whole family looks like stoners. Especially the 12 year old. LOL. It's a CRAP design. It's O.K. I was'nt expecting you to admit ur wrong. I'm out.

Wasn't talking about Dave's family, Maybe Sparky Jay rings a bell. Sorry Dave if Sparky is trying to put that twist on it.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect someone who is not wrong to admit it either...

Well I have to agree with Sparky (not about my 12 year old and wife looking like stoners). The boards are loose in my racks if you have 2 in each. They have never come close to falling out even with the straps off, but they do rattle sometimes in chop until they side back to where the binding hits the rack (like in the picture). They work fine, but Sparky's points are true.

Maybe Fruit Cake has a newer design.
Old     (wake_upppp)      Join Date: Nov 2003       01-05-2005, 5:47 PM Reply
Thanks for the input Dave. I've talked to many people who own them that have the same complaint. I myself, don't own them, nor would I until they change the design. And the new one's are still the same to the best of my knowledge. Dave, my post was sarcasm in respone to Fruit Cake's ill thought out statement that stoner's were the problem, not the racks. I would never assume something about anyone I don't know, much less even met unlike some people around here.

Well, now we all have our own opinions of the racks, and now each other.
Old     (guido)      Join Date: Jul 2002       01-06-2005, 1:43 PM Reply
Nothing more exciting than having a board blow out of the rack at 30mph. I'm just glad there wasn't anyone sitting in the back seat of my boat when it happened. Probably would have done some serious damage. I've got Bat Racks and really like them, but make sure the bungees are tight and you slide the boards forward on occasion.

You guys are also maybe missing one point: Different towers have the racks mounted at different angles. Some mounting angles will be more prone to catch air than others. Just my opinion.

Anyway, I've got a '02 DLX and love it. The wake, while smallish compared to some of the new mega boats, is sick. Darren.... I don't have any pics next to my wake, but I doubt its as big as yours. That looks sick. Plus I love the build quality, manuverability (even when loaded), and best of all: value.

Peace out guys. All these pictures of sun are making me fiend. I think I'll go on vacation for a few months. Cabo? Hawaii? Florida?

I am praying for ya. I know the feeling in waiting to pick up your baby. Beautiful boat, just one dislike, the bimini top. Colors are good just looks cheap (sorry). Is that the one that the factory is adding as an option. Take a look at mine in the first pic in the thread. I got mine at Bimini Isile in Tracy ca. I know its way out of your area but I think that there has to be someone local to you that can make one that is a little more substancial. By the way if you havent test drove the V215, then wait until you have about a week before pick up, it just makes the wait worse after driving it. Sanger for life.
Old     (ccwhite)      Join Date: Jul 2004       01-14-2005, 4:25 AM Reply
Your bimini looks good. Its has a very taught look to it. But I don't think the Poo-Bear overhang will look good on my boat :-) Its the Factory top I think, look at sordaves 2001 sanger, his tope is the same.

I have not tested this exact boat, but I did drive one exactly like it (but blue) a couple of months ago.

If anybody needs a refrence about Houston Watersports (www.natiqueway.com) I am a very happy almost customer.

If you don't mind me asking - your boat looks very similar to mine (Except you have that custom tower box - Im getting a pair of Titan 2s plus Amp) -- What did you pay for your boat?

Just over 40. which included extended waranty, stereo (tower box, amps, sony deck(nothing special but decent) 10" sub, 4 6 1/2s), pop up cleats, cover, upgraded trailer, 314 horse mtr. instead of the 300.
Old     (ccwhite)      Join Date: Jul 2004       01-14-2005, 9:01 AM Reply
Gary - That sounds about the same thing as I am getting.. Extended waranty, same-ish stereo (titan 2 speakers + amp. Not sure about the sub), cleats, cover, trailer, 350Mag engine (not the scorpion), PP, Depth Finder, Wake Plate (yes, full plate, not just the standard non-movable plate), Battle Racks (swivleing, not standard sanger racks ---- for under 45k

BUT - I get to be the only Sanger (or one of 2 or 3) In the San Antonio/Austin area

jeff (fruit cake), you know i got nuthin' but love for ya, but i have to agree with the bat racks. some have had good luck, but the most i've been in, the lower rack's "support" is too loose, and leads to the board in that slot to slide out, just like how it is in the pic w/ the 12yr old driving.

Chris,

Good deal, The hydraulic wake plate is a awsome feature. I will be adding it to mine soon (hope before summer). My partner has it on his V230 and it makes a diffrence. The racks sound like a nice touch also. Rock it and go big. Post some pic's when you pic it up.
Old     (ccwhite)      Join Date: Jul 2004       01-15-2005, 5:02 AM Reply
The racks were a late come addition to my priority list. I test drove the Supra 21V (a GREAT boat btw) and it has integrated swiveling racks. After that trip I called my Sanger dealer and asked him if the Sanger could have them (also told him that these racks may make the difference between a 21v and v215 - These boats are very close and it was coming down to the little details to choose between them). He said they would add on some aftermarket racks that can swivel, but roll them into my price. Score one for the Sanger Dealer.

It makes me feel SOOOO much better not having to worry about somebody falling off the gunnel while getting their board, or worse yet, chipping my paint when they drop the board.

Hey Sanger Fellas - I know a bunch of you live near the plant, or have connections w/in the plant. Do you know if they plan to offer a fiberglass platform in the near future anytime?
Old     (sanger215guy)      Join Date: Oct 2004       01-15-2005, 11:18 AM Reply
They currently have one available for the Dx, v210 and I believe the V230. The 215 has diffrent mounting hardware (V230 might use it also) But I think that it is the only diffrence in it being offered. I will let you know the full run down shortly. I am hearing that there are alot of cool things comming out soon for teh Sanger lovers.

Teak is the way to go! Mininimal maintenace and it looks great and easy on the board. Had fiberglass with my Chap. with no problems but prefer the Teak 100%.

I like the look of the fiberglass. Imho it just seems to integrate with the boat better. Even better, fiberglass with a small rail around the edge (like the supra platform).

Gary, while your talking to your connections you may want to drop this small list of options that I was looking for that didn't come from standard from the sanger factory. In no particular order -

1) Wake Plate
2) Swiveling Racks (Ill never go back)
3) Driver Booster seat
4) Fiberglass platform

Can't wait to get my boat and try her out.

YOU wish we had a local dealer!!! When I want to go look at the boat or talk shop w/ the Cliff, I have to drive 3 hours CLOSER to my mother n law. This brings me within the 30 min driving must visit distance!!!

Thats how much I like sanger! Just to touch the boat I may buy, Ill drive 3 hours and put up with a visit with the mother-n-law. The factory should cut me $10k off my boat just for that alone

1. wakeplate: still looking into on factory installed or not.(hydraulic)
2.Swiveling rack: any rack you want can be added, it just becomes a cost issue.
3. Driver booster seat: Sanger offers as an option
4. Fiberglass platform: Sanger offers a maintance free option, I am not sure of the material used. but I will know shortly.

Gary - I knew these things could be added after market (Im doing it on my 05 boat , well not the platform or booster seat). My suggestion was that Sanger start adding these as standard options. They were some of the things the Sanger lacked (but the dealer worked out) when I was going over my year long boat search.

Chris;

My bad I apoligise for not reading the post clearly, I too would like to see alot of these items as a standard installed part. I think you will see some progression from sanger to try and give a little more to the customer, but the bottom line is the mor frills you add the more the cost goes up for a base line boat. Out of all the options I would like to see the swiveling racks become standard's for all manufactures. A little bit of saftey goes along way.

We LOVE our baby... in fact it's our "Only Child" See more pics, click here: http://www.geocities.com/litlone873/OnlyChild.html). We bought her from last year's boat show in Pleansanton... it was between the Sanger and the MB Sport... Sanger won HANDS DOWN!!! Best ride EVER.

Kenny mentioned that Gary is trying to get a Sanger party together sometime this year. We would love to be included in this event so please add me to your guest list if/when the time comes.

We have not been to any of the lakes you have suggested, and this would give us a reason to check any of them out.
Seems like those two weeks are pretty early in the season..Weather could be an issue.

Maybe ya ought to start a new thread.."Sanger Get-together." This one is gettin' alittle long..

I agree on it being early in the year, right now it is just a target, they tend to move. I am going to talk to Scott P. over the weekend and see what other participation I can get. In the next few weeks I want to set a location and date in stone. I think mid June will be the latest it will move to. Hogan is nice due to Wrinkle Cove, a large cove with day use and very close to the ramp and lost of room for lots of boats. The camping (number of sites) is my only concern. I like Bullards and Shasta, I am looking to keep it closer to the roots of the factory.
