I went out to the Central Florida Wakefest and had a good time and met some cool people but the day went to crap quick. We were up on the tires at Cypress Gardens and got into Barry’s Boat to do some riding and left my boat unattended (Blue 85 Nautique). Well we got back to my boat and an Ipod, Dell MP3 player, XM Inno, 04 137 Parks board with Split bindings, 03 (I think, it was a friends board) Byerly with suction bindings were all missing. Pretty pathetic. Yes it was my fault and take full blame but I thought I could trust my fellow wakeboarders. If anyone see’s any of the above around Winter Haven or saw anything suspicious around the boat let me know. The funny thing is they didn’t take a wallet with $300 in it or the new Murray and Premier board. Go figure. Lesson’s learned.

Duffy we had a good time. Let me know when you plan a trip up to Lake Weir and I will get a crew together and meet you up there.

Jeff I will pm you for more info on the gear. I can't believe some low life bastard did that. I will keep my eyes and ears open and if I find out who did it I will post the pics of his swollen face.
Damn I hate thieves!!

Jeff, it was nice to meet you and your crew. Sorry that happened. We'll keep an eye out for your stuff. Email me any pics you might have of the missing gear.

That blows. Not many thing piss me off more than someone stealing. Especially in an environment like that that is all riders. All I can say is what comes around goes around. Hopefully they will blow their knee out on that Parks. At least they didn't get your new Murdogg.

Well guys I mite be able to help you all out, I dont really feel like posting names on here because everybody and there mom has a account on here and not everybody needs to know who did this because we dont want anybody going out killin the bitch so if u all are interested in who did this PM me a lot of people run there mouths here in Winter Haven so I was the lucky one to find out how this happend and I'm not very happy, and I'm going to be taking care of this also, personaly. But I'm so sry jeff about this and it will be taking care of and I'm hopeing to get your stuff back, and I'm still getting more information on this I have other people I want to talk to, to find out for this for sure but I'm 110% for sure I know who did this.. Wakefest was cool weather we just need to advertise more and that wakefest in orlando kinda killed ours also because they had a competition with theres maybe we can working something out with that next year. Well all have to talk and decied if we want to do this again if we do we need to start now but I'm going to find out more about this problem that has happend and I'll let u know, again I'm sry that it had to happend on a special event but it will be worked out and promise that it wont happen again

Thanks for the help guys. I understand people make bad decisions and I’m not looking to get back at anyone. Any help would be great. Hey, if you guys are able to recover my stuff it would give me a great excuse to come visit the Chain O Lakes again to pick it up.

Ya Travis I was pretty shocked they didn’t take the Murray. Go figure.

I'm on it. Give me a few days, Jeff. BTW, when you come get your gear, you can count on some pulls in my boat.

Sorry I missed the fun, but that sucks that happened. I always wonder when I leave my boat if the gear will end up missing? You guys are great in helping get the stuff back, kick his a**
Old     (byrd)      Join Date: Dec 2005       04-17-2007, 9:36 AM Reply
Personally, I'd rather not know anything and would like the gear to just show up. No questions asked or answered. If that doesnt happen in a couple of days, you better believe we can raise it up a notch or two to see what happens...

You guys are much more tolerant and patient than I am. If these items were removed from my boat, and someone here knew who did it, the perp would be in custody of our law enforcement officials by now.

Tim, I dont know who did it, Paulie says he has an idea. I really just want to get the gear back without any hassles. When stuff like this happens, cooler heads usually prevail. That is the direction I want to try first. If you jump to conclusions without all the evidence, you will never get anything back. Plus, you have to have evidence to get the police involved. But that can happen if we dont get the stuff back in a day or so...
Old     (timmy)      Join Date: Jul 2001       04-17-2007, 11:39 AM Reply
Well if someone says they are 110% sure they know who did it, then it probably is not a bad time to get the police involved. It is not about being a hot head and getting angry, it is about using the system that is in place to deal with criminals who choose to disrespect fellow wakeboarders.
Old     (byrd)      Join Date: Dec 2005       04-17-2007, 11:48 AM Reply
Yes, but all the police are going to do is write up a report, tell you to talk to your insurance, and then they will go talk to the guy. Unless the guy has it at his house, car, etc. in plain view, when the police show up, what are they going to do? NOTHING!

Someone saying they know 110% and being able to prove it with evidence are two different things my friend.

Wow...you guys are unreal, I had counted it a loss. I owe you all big and much more than a beer or 5. How about a "Central Florida Wakefest - Gear Recovery Party". Let me know what your plans are for this weekend and we will hook up. Again thanks for the help. You guys have one of the most respectful crews and looking forward to riding with you all again.

Vince I know you won't remember it, but I woke you up on the dock Saturday night and it wasn't an easy task. I did watch you look for your phone for about 2 hours. Good time.

I spoke to Billy today and going to pick the gear up on Saturday. I cannot thank you guys enough. Looking forward to getting together again.

Finally you stood up and it was scary....no chance in walking a strait line. Thanks for the good entertainment. All night it was...they stole my phone...why did they steal my phone...they can steal my boat...but not my phone. Good time.

I just picked up my stuff from Billy. I cannot thank you guys enough...Billy, Paulie, Barry, Duffy and whoever else help out on the recovery effort. It just proves there are still a few good people in the world.

Duffy I appreciate your call today. I didn't know anyone was going to be on the water today. I brought my stuff just incase...you just missed me by about an hour. I will plan a trip back over there in the next month or so to hang out....Drinks on me.

Vince I may have missed your "dance routine", but we were talking about you on our boat. I think someone said, "that guy hasn't quick dancing all day". Good times....

Sorry to hear about your lose Don. I am one of the few lucky one's that was able to recover there stuff.

Thanks again to the Chain O Lake crew.
