nice going wes, but you're not doing a backroll. you're doing an ole o/a 3. i see that folks keep telling you that, but it's true. you're bending at the waist and rotating the board around you. that's the o/a 3, not a backroll.
i think if you did the backroll you wouldn't have the handle problem. the reason you're throwing the handle is because in that position you need to pass it, and you're not, which doesn't leave you much option but to throw it away.
you need to stand tall at the wake and keep your hips up. that'll get you around - you've got plenty of height and time for it and you're taking a nice progressive cut. but if you keep bending at the waist like that you're gonna have serious problems learning to land it!
