do the moomba outbacks make a good wake with a wake plate and ballast?

Depends on the year and hull that you are talking about, I think that the Outback LS hull starting in the year 2000 makes a good wake. Since then, they have made some changes to the hulls from what I understand and some make better wakes than others. I know all this because I helped my buddy pick out his boat that he recently purchased and I searched these boards for info on the Moombas since they were in his price range. He wound up going with a Sport Nautique that was a little older.

I have an 06 Outback V I like the wake and most people like it as well. The boat has the wake plate and the gravity 3 ballast.

I had that boat for 3 years.
