I have been doing abit of searches and I cannot seem to find a few answers, as there seems to be a number of different opinions on which is the way to go.

Q1. Is there a simple formula to determine how many batteries you need in your boat,
Q2. Alot of boat owners say to buy the manual Perko isolator switch, while I have read some that say to get an automatic isolator?
Q3. When replacing an alternator with a higher amp one, do I need a "marine" alternator? I read some where that regular auto alternator could give off a spark which could lead to explosion. While a marine alternator is sealed? What would you suggest?
Q4. What size of alternator should I be looking at. I was planning to run 2-600 amps,
Q5. Does your amp have to be a marine amp. I seem to be coming across both yes and no answers

This is my first real stereo I am working on so I need all the help I can get! Thank for the help
