For the past six or seven years, we've had a family tradition of wakeboarding New Year's day at the river. This years' forecast looks to be pretty good, with temps in the low 70s', although water could be a bit nippy, low to mid 50s', but we dock start, and the goal is to get back to our beach without falling.
Anybody else have plans to boat/ride New Years Day?

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

That's been the tradition here at Belews Lake, NC. Don't see that changing.

If weather holds out we will ride. Looking to be in the low 50's and water is still above 60*.

Last year was our first year and we plan on continuing each 1st.

We ride every year on the 1st although this year I have to work so we are going out on New Years Eve. The air temp is supposed to be 40 and the water is about the same.

We are planning on going also, lows in 20s with the highs in the low 40s with snow possible. My friend Ed will ride in any weather I mean ANY weather. It is good because it really pushes the rest of us to get out there and we always have a blast. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!!! I hope everyone stays healthy and lands the biggest thing they try.

Yup,

It's just another winter day on the lake for us. One of the few winter days when we have to share our lake with others though.

TigeMike, are you at Texas Tige in Houston?? If so, will y'all be at the boat show??

I would, but our boats are winterized, and the lake is around 40. The only wetsuit that I have is a shorty...

Hey, Randy, how close to Kernersville do you live? Cause that lake is where I used to fish when I was a little kid.

Nick I don't live far from Kernersville at all. I live about 5 miles outside of Welcome. If your ever back in the area and need a pull, hit me up. You are on a much better lake now though. We rent a house up there every summer for a week. I'd move there in a minute if I could afford a place on SML.

Josh,

Man I wish but I'm just a tige owner fron little old NC. Dont work for Tige or dealer but will be at 2 shows in NC and 1 in SC with our 3 area dealers.

God I know, SML prices are so expensive. Only problem is that so many people have moved up here since 1996, that the lake is next to impossible to ride on unless you go early in the morning or just before sunset. I'm actually headed down to Cornelius next Wednesday to visit Power Sports, check out a bu, but there's going to be a couple hour stop in Kernersville to see a friend. Same friend made fun of me because I didn't know how to pronounce Belews the first time that I had been down there in ten years.

I wish so much that I could ride on New Years, that would be tight. I think the closest I'll come to that lake is hopping in for about twenty seconds and then climbing out...

I wish I could ride. The lakes are frozen over but good now. I need to plan a warm weather vacation soon.

We almost went today. I think we are gonna try and go a day or two before the new year. Weather here in north alabama is going to be brutal on the first, so a day or two early is fine by me.

Going to spend New Years Eve on the river here in Sacramento watching the fire works from old town. Then the weekend following I am going to the Dirty Delta. A New Years tridition to go Out the first weekend of the year.

we went out today and rode for a while. I got two sessions in and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The water temp was 52. I think we may go again tomorrow since the 1st is gonna be so cold here. Thank God for hot water showers on the boat. If you don't have one, Spend the money and get it, it is so worth it.

Going riding tomorrow. Went this past Friday, not even wearing a wetsuit topper yet, just boardshorts (S. Florida). Anyways...come visit!

I would. The river is still open here in Green Bay on the Fox River...its hard waking up, seeing glass, and not being able to ride it! ARRRGH!

I was planning on it until I saw the forecast of a high temperature in the 30s and 30 mph winds in Nashville TN. Plus the water was 45 so I passed on the chance to ride. haha I think most would too

We were out on the Mississippi here in Minnesota. The temperature was 1 and the windchill was 20 below. Dutch, the guy who started this back in the 60's, is now 82 and continues to ski. Here's a video:

We got hosed with 25mph winds yesterday. Got up, looked outside, and was ticked. We ended up watching bowl games from 9a - 9p so all wasn't lost.
