I was looking into purchasing a 2009 Super Air Nautique 230 Team edition and was curious to everyones' thoughts about this boat and what a ballpark figure would be for the cost of one of these? Also how is the wake compared to an MB Sports B52 V23?

Now that is one strange comparison you are asking about. That's damn near equivalent to comparing a Rolls Royce to a Chevrolet! I know you're just asking about the wake, but man!, what a leap.

seriously wakeshoe? You do realize Matt HAS a V23 don't you? My guess is that he's asking because the wake on his boat is pretty killer right now and he doesn't want to downgrade...

Edit to clarify that i have NOT been in a 230 and do not know if it would be a downgrade or not. I have owned Nautiques and I personally think the RR vs Chevy comparison is not accurate.

I'd say its more like having an 08 Porsche GT2 and going to buy a an '09 Corvette only to have to supercharge the thing to make it as fast as the GT2. In other words, buy a lot of lead for the Nautique. The only difference is that the Nautique is about 30% more expensive.

Can someone who has been behind or owns a nautique please give me some feedback? thanks.-Matt

I personally know a couple of pros (what a name dropper ha ha) and they rate the 230 as having THE sickest wake. They run super heavy tho.

Matt get out and demo this 230, I think you will love this boat from CC they hit a homerun with this boat IMO.
I am a CC dealer so I am a little bias, but this is what I will be running for 09, it just has a killer wake and the boat handles like a dream for a 23ft boat.
We run about 2000lbs total stock/Sacs and for me the wake is huge.
Surf wake is crazy good as well.
Get on the lake in that bad boy and give it a spin.
I have been behind the Mb v23 and the wake is very nice, but I dont think you will be disappointed one bit with the 230 wake, it rivals the best of the best IMO.

I have been behind, owned and serviced both MB's and Nautiques, the V23 and 230 in particular. MB makes a great boat and Nautique makes a great boat, as different as they look on the surface, it is interesting how similar they are on the inside. Go take a demo in the 230.

i will say the wake behind the 230 is the best of the nautiques. but i would say IMO the xstar wake is better, but you can't complain about the 230, big and clean fo sure

How do people weight the 230? That is, can you modify the existing ballast system to pipe in additional sacks? Also, has anyone heard about CC releasing a saltwater package in January '09? I heard a rumor about this. Thanks.

I currently own a 06 Wakesetter VLX and have demoed the Nautique 210, 220 and 230 and I love the wake on the 230. I actually think that it has a better wake then an X-Star

I have gotten a pull behind the 230. It was a pro rider's boat and I have no clue how much weight it had or the motor but the wake was flat out rediculous, literally hip high. This was a boat kept on a lift at a private lake, so its not like they had to trailer the thing either. I would say its like a sacked out 210 wake on steroids and crack.

still figuring out my new 236, but I put a 550 in the nose and 300's on top of the tanks, plus factory and it was money.

What I like best about the wake is that it is not wide. I ride the same length rope and speed as my 00 xstar. Actually the wakes seem real similar

Matt, the surf wake is very solid and you can surf on the port and starboard side of the boat. On my friends 2008 230 we had 1000lbs in the back locker and 3 people in the back corner and the wake is huge! We have several people in our crew that have been able to surf regular and switch. We even have done some heelside surfing. When the water is smooth the 230 or 236 has one of the best wakes i have ever ridden on. Have about 1000lbs in the front and 2000lbs in the back. When JD Webb loads his up he puts 5500lbs in it. I can image how big that wake must be. If your not riding smooth water the wake can have some trouble staying shaped up. Overall one of my favorite boats, and I own an x-star.

The 230 has a very nice balanced wake. Perhaps it's not the biggest one, but it has so much water and volume behind it. It's really perfect. I'm sorry I cannot compare it to the V23.

The surf wake is also solid. Port and Starboard side for us with 2 persons in the boat and stock ballast. No problem. I'm around 190lbs and surf on a LF skimskate board (small) on both sides!
