Well, I dont have any shops that are local where i can demo boards. So I need some help from you all. I'm looking for a board thats very loose (roam loose) fast, and has soft landings. Brand doesn't matter to me. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be awesome. Thanks- Ethan

I'd look for something that is continuous rocker and essentially finless. So bolt-in fins would be much better than molded fins. A CWB faction would fit the description perfectly. They've got them on boarders best buy right now for like $129. Can't beat that. The Marius is good too. Pretty darn loose without fins. Good pop and good landings.

The Faction would definitely be a good choice. Without fins it's incredibly loose, it's definitely fast (too fast for me!haha) and also lands pretty good too.

Slingshot Response! Flat bottoms so they are fast and loose, and flex for the softest landings ever.

Look at a obrien 3 stage with the delta bottom. the delta is designed to soften landings and it also picks the board up a little in the water which makes it faster. For the looseness, just take the fins off. I cant remember how many molded fins each board has but go look at the natural, vise, coda, or vallhalla. i beleive all of them have the delta base. If your interested in one hit me up. i might be able to hook you up with a deal depending on where you are located.

Thanks for the suggestions. How are the 07 slingshot boots? That package they have is nice, but damn i love my 3DS boots, It would be hard to give them up... How is the marius compared to the absolute? The absolute felt like a tank to me. Slow and super tight. I will look into the faction. Anything eles to look into??

07 SS boots are okay out of the box, but with a little work are pretty good. Super supportive, pretty stiff, TIGHT without pressure points. Just take the top outside laces, cut them off, then just use the extra string length from the bottom laces (there is plenty) to run up where the top laces were -- you have only one string, thats good length to tighten everything.... i didn't like mine until I did that, now they're easy and just overall good (Message edited by sidekicknicholas on March 14, 2008)

You might like the LF Shane setup without the cupped fins on it as well.

The HL 3DS/Pulse is a fast board that lands very soft and pops well. Pulls the fins off and it should give you a ride similar to what you are looking for. And if you decide to throw the fins on, HL got it right for 2008 and is finally packaging this board with the smaller 0.7" fins.

I loved the old subjekt shape.. Shane's new shape rides really good too. I just think the subjekt was alittle looser.

Do the slingshots have molded in fins? I cant tell online. They look like just screw on fins, which would be sweet.

I love the press. It has a nice amount of flex and it's as smooth as a snowboard on the bottom so it's as loose a the roam just with a lot more pop than the roam. Mike Ennen did the graphics so it looks really hot too (Message edited by caseman1322 on March 15, 2008)

I think the press is what i want. I love the roam, but i want something a little more stiff and with a more tradition shape. So the press looks like the ticket.

The Slingshot fins are bolt on. I saw Tom Foshee riding the press at TSR the other day and it looked like alot of fun to ride. He was doing some nasty presses on the a frame with it and then took some sets on a witness and was not getting as dirty on the rails but of coarse was still killin it. It does look sweet though
