I have a 2007 Glastron with a stock 3 blade prop. I was thinking about switching to a 4 blade. will it make that big of a difference? I tow a lot and dont run wide open that much. will it be a noticeable or just a waste?

....you will notice, but I dont think it is worth it (at least it wasnt for me when I tried).....but if you want real improvement lower your prop pitch.

You don't really say why your looking at a new prop, but I'll take a guess that it's to get your boat up on a plane faster, especially when your loaded down & pulling a boarder.

It's been a while since I owned an I/O, and I never messed with different props then either. But I did install one of those hydrofoil wings on the outdrive & saw a big improvement in getting the boat on a plane faster. As I recall I lowered my lowest planing speed on an 18' SeaRay from around 17 or 18 mph down to like 12 or 13 mph.

Go to a high five from Mercruiser you will love it. It slows you down about 2 mph but helps pulling.

We had a I/O with 5.0 mercruiser, and when we changed to a High Five 19 pitch, It was like night and day. Much better for pulling but you will lose 2-3 mph.

Same thing here. Have a 5.0 Mercruiser. Changed to a 17 pitch first, little too much low end and lost about 5-6 mph, then went to the 19 pitch. Perfect.
