Hey i have a 2001 x-star with three hard tanks i want to add lead to the front and then plumb in two more hard tanks in the back that would go flat next to the existing ones.
Does anyone know where to find plastic tanks any where from 40-60 gallons? Has any one added hard tanks to their existing ones?

Yeah watertankscom works good and you can have them build to size. Thats what I did with my VLX the only prob is you lose that storage and if you have bateries in the back they tend to be a pain in the ass to get to.

Kev, just put a sac in each side with lead up front. You can plumb them into the existing system.

Talk to Ty at tyb@flexalt.com
He made me some super strong bags to hold the lead bullets, which I got from the local shooting range. No mess. Easy and cheep. 400 lbs in the bow under the seats. He also made the H2O bags too.
