I have 2 DVC 4 ohm 12" Fosgate HE2's that I am going to put in the boat. They are 500 watt rms max. Would it be best to get a 2 channel amp or a mono amp? what ohm load would i need to run to these subs? Thanks for the help!!

Personally I would wire each sub to be 2 ohm (wire the VC's in parellel), and get a Mono Amp that is 1 Ohm Stable. Personally I would go with an MTX sub amp. I have had Kicker, Fosgate, Phoneix Gold, Alpine and MTX. The MTX seems to provide the best over all power to the subs and run the best.

the web page above should help you wire it, which will depend on what amp(s) you get.

As far as the amp goes, you want class D mono.

if it were me, i would get two kicker zx751 amplifiers and wire 1 sub to each amp with the voice coils in parralel. Use a sealed box. Turn your amp gains down to a quarter and you will have a NICE system!

Mono 1000W @ 1 ohm is what you want. That will be the cheapest solution. There are numerous options for getting that power and that load. I would look for an older power series from Rockford 1001 BD. They can be had <$200 and put out power.
