Hey everyone, This is my first post. I just purchased and Mastercraft X2 and have just started surfing. I have 2 300lbs ballast bags along with the ones in the boat. When i set up my boat to surf I drain all my ballast tanks except the starboard or port side depending on which side we are riding on. And then i put the ballast bags on that side as well. Now I leave my front ballast empty for now but should i fill it up? for a better surfing wake.

Welcome to the board! You'll find alot of helpful people here with tons of info.

How is your wake right now? Filling up your bow will help lengthen your wave and your sweet spot. It will knock some of the height down though.

The wake right now is decent, but that's what i was wondering if adding some weight to the bow would lengthen it.Awesome thanks for the info.

I ride behind a buddies X2. He has the factory plus 400 in each locker- depending on which side we are surfing. I think he has about 300 up front and the center filled is usually better for us. With even only 2 or 3 people on the boat the wave is really great to surf. Not super clean, but has a lot of push and is pretty tall.

Good luck!
