feelings about surfing on and off swim platform

I was wondering how many people ever surf on and off their platform.

I think this is gonna come down to the age of the wakesurfer and more likely, his position with a particular organization, group or corporation.

Those of us who are involved in putting on wakesurfing events are most likely going to be strongly negative about this issue.

The kids are going to be all for it, cause in their opinion it's a "cool" thing to do.

how about jumping off your platform with surfboard in hand and landing on the wave and riding it out?, now thats cool!

I did it on accident once I thought I was going to hit the boat and scratch the gel coat so I bailed.

My dad would of killed me if I scratched the boat.

I've surfed righ up to the platform and dismounted several times but only when my kids weren't in the boat. Don't want to teach them bad habits.

When I am done I surf up to the step and put the nose on then step off, the board stay there by itself so you just reach down and grab it.
