Its Marine Stadium in Miami, Its basically a big man made cove that was created to host boat races, concerts on a floating barge and ski shows back in the day, It is currently abandoned and the bleachers are just full of graffiti and broken bottles, its really cool though. It would be great if they could fix it up and use it for watching wakeboarding comps lol

hey manny, the boat looks great. i see you added some extra ballast. i think you could maximize your wake even more with just a little more weight to the front. the boat definately looks a little rear heavy, which actually can hurt the size of the wake

i'll give it a try next time, I didn't try it because of my shoulder but it looked much bigger and my friends said it was night and day

Is that saltwater by chance? And is that a saltwater series x2? I miss South Florida so much.

It is saltwater but it's not a saltwater series

How has your maintenance been on that boat? I live on saltwater up here in the panhandle. I'm seriously looking at the saltwater series mastercrafts.

Everything on the boat is perfect except for manifolds and motor mounts. I have 110 hours on the boat and have never had a problem. I would still recommend the saltwater series for more peace of mind and its less of a bitch to take care of.

is that the x-series ballast i have an 06 xstar and am looking at it? was it hard to install? how much was it? How long does it take to fill everything?
Old     (mrm2083)      Join Date: Nov 2005       12-03-2006, 12:01 PM Reply
Its not the x-series system, just the sacs. It took me about 2 hrs to install, it takes alot longer than stock to fill up but its no big deal at all. Its definately worth it and works like a factory system.

i was thinking of doing the same with the sacs in the rear of the boat on mine... but from the way the boat sits in the water I can tell that there is just not enough weight in that boat..

Its unfortunate because I wanted to rig my ballast the exact same way..and im sad that those sacs arent enough... but.. I think with the new ACME 1285 prop the boat will be able to push 2.5k no problem.... so it looks like Im stuck with my 25 pop bags and 500lb sac in the walkway for the time being...

Just for reference... when my boat is fully loaded.. the front eye hook is underwater at idle speed...compared to the picture above..

If you add a little bit more weight... it makes a substantial difference in the lip of the wake.. and you really get that little extra snap off the top.

Just my butt talking~

yeah when i have my eye hook under water i know i have enough weight up front and the wake is going to be really good.

Colin are you gona have that 210 already?

How much weight should I add to the front, and when you guys have the eye hook underwater, do you guys ever take water over the front because I'm really paranoid about that since i ride in salt.

Hmm would a 400lb sac in the walkway more towards the front be enough extra weight?

We should try that next time Manny...
Old     (trojanman)      Join Date: May 2002       12-04-2006, 4:14 PM Reply
thats what i run... I put 8 pop bags in the very tip (so basically your ballast up front) ,, and then a 500 sac that probably only fills to 400 in the walkway all the way towards the bow..

Should be nice...
Old     (trojanman)      Join Date: May 2002       12-04-2006, 4:16 PM Reply
and to answer your question about water over the bow.. to this day I have not had a single problem taking on water.. but be carefull.. i definetely see where it COULD happen. But its not really that bad... power over rollers and keep your nose high and you should be money

yeah Francisco as far forward would definately help alot. my setup is very similar to manny's except for a sac in the walkway which makes a very noticeable difference in the wake, and improves acceleration and allows better handling
Old     (projectely4)      Join Date: Apr 2003       12-04-2006, 4:44 PM Reply
also you could definately squeeze some more weight in that front bow integrated sac.

billy e, do you have any pics of your wake and setup to compare? the wake was a little washy sometimes towards the back

I'm not gonna get a 210 anymore because a)early pics don't make the wake look too good, and b) my dealer is setting me up in a 220 and i've ridden behind a properly weighted red one that rides in marine all the time. I'm test driving it on monday so I could have it next week.
