I am putting together a new menu and want to do my own pics to save a little $$$$

I need to get shots of various plates of food

anyone have some advice as to backdrop, lighting...etc.....

we have the Nikon D300 with a 50mm lens and the bigger 18-200mm

don't have strobes, but I can rent some

any help would be greatly appreciated......lens settings, format.....
thanks

If you want to do it right rent/buy a Nikon tilt/shift, it's really the best way to get everything in focus.

this is the ticket:

If you're going to use what you have I'd suggest the 50mm stopped all the way down for max DOF.

Both the Nikon above and the 90mm T/S that Canon makes are used almost exclusively for that kind of work.
