As we reconcile the books for '08 and make our projections for '09, I found it surprising to see what landed in the top five. Two of the top five brands hardly gets a mention on WakeWorld. I'm going to let everyone take a guess on the top five speaker brand sales according to our sales. Whoever gets it first or comes closest will get a free pair of SpeakerSox of their choice. #1 is a no brainer, #3 and #4 you need to think outside the box, less wakeboarding and more non wakeboarding boats with towers. Good luck and keep an open mind.

#1 WetSounds Pro 80/60
#2 Titan Alpha1 and 2
#3 Bazooka Tubbies 8" and 6.5"
#4 Infinity 6100/6100m
#5 JL Audio mainly MasterCraft OEM
#6 Liquid Audio
#7 Skylon Rubicon 100/150, Deafcon3
#8 Kicker KMT6
# 9NVS
#10 Bullet Hollowpoints

What I find strange is the fact that Monster dropped to #18 after being #5 last year.

updated... i can see from the website they are literally socks for tower speakers.

what do they do though??? not sure if they are purely for looks or if they serve some purpose?????

do they keep rain out maybe?

Tj, they keep the bugs and other road crap off while in transit, may keep painted cans from fading as quick, pretty much helps protect them cosmetically. Awesome product.

I bought the speaker sox for my speakers because I was tired of trying to clean off all the bugs after trailering. After using them for a month I went out and bought sox for all 4 wakeboard racks. I can't tell you how nice it is to travel for 4 or 5 hours and just pull off the sox and your speakers and racks are all clean and shiny. And the best part of them is how easy Jim has been to deal with!!! Thanks for throwing the dog a bone Jim. Hate you will love them.
Old     (bill_airjunky)      Join Date: Apr 2002       12-31-2008, 1:53 PM Reply
I bought them for the protection against bugs & the sun. But after seeing them on the boat, I run them all the time.

Hey Jim,
Great job & have a Happy New Year!
Hows those CompTech rack covers coming?
Old     (malibudude)      Join Date: Feb 2001       12-31-2008, 3:09 PM Reply
I ran speakersox on my old boat and sought then out when we got our new one. Even after 5years on my old boat constantly in the sun they held up very well. Jim is always great to deal w/ and we'll definitely get them again if we buy another down the road. Don't forget they offer the mirror sox too, just a nice touch. Also they offer multicolored covers too....

Hey Bill, give me a call and we can get the Comp tech cover going. Did anyone notice how well Tim White did, talking about knowing the market. Hate, email me and I will get your SpeakerSox shipped, great job too. I'm going to try to make this a yearly thing. I really do not know what to expect in '09 but I do know that a lot of good people in our industry will be hurting. We all need to stick together and support each other. I wish everyone a safe and wonderful New Year. Jim Phillips

Liquid Audio has been around for aprox seven years. They offer a great value in the mid range marine audio business. Customer service is top notch. Completely different market compared to Wet Sounds.

i had some liquid audio polk doubles on my boat for a summer and liked them. i just bought a new wetsounds setup because they are so much louder. so much more expensive too though...

Cool I dont want to spend two grand just yet and I was wondering why they were soo cheap. They sound like a possible option for me.

Liquid Audio is run by Tom. Cool guy and will deal with you on whatever setup you like. Very knowledgeable and very helpful when it comes to audio equipment. He is located here in Raleigh, NC and does some first class work.
