hey guys my buddy has a pair of hyperlite spins and the overlays ripped. Anyways he got new overlays and changed them up but he doesn't know how to change the string..

What's the trick from disconnecting the string without cutting it? He needs to transfer the string from the old overlays to the new ones.. Sorry if the solution is obvious but i have yet to see the bindings and am going only by his description..

Needle nose pliers and the very tip of the plastic thingy will pop off. (That's how my Byerly's are at least). It should be the same.

My splits are the same kinda of thing. I haven't taken it off yet but it looks like it should.

yes, I've replaced mine recently. Needle nose pliers are the solution as Blabelmooch said. I had to use two pair- one to grab the very tip and the other to hold the main section. Pull the tip straight out, don't twist or bend it.
