The NorCal INT League wrapped up it's season this weekend, we brught the surfin' to Villa Lagos. For those not familiar with this venue - it's absolutely gorgeous, grassy knolls slalom lake to the south and a man made wakeboard lake to the north. Average depth for the day was 7 feet deep. It can be done! Before I get to far into the results and pictures I just had to post up this picture. This is what these grassroots events are all about. Mike Armstrong had his son Mikey jump off the dock into his arms. It was so cute, Dad would instruct his baby - ok, on three you jump. Then he'd go: One...and Mikey would leap.

I took all the pictures today, so they aren't great. This gives you a pretty good idea of what the wake looks like - again 7 foot average depth today. Little Stevie rippin'! So not bad, it's not stellar, but for folks that don't have access to pristine water, this depth is still do'able.

Pictures of the winners! We didn't handle the registration, so I don't have last names of many of the folks. Rather than only show some of the last names, I'll just go with first names. In the Mini-Kahuna division: 1) Stephen 2) Sofia 3) Shane

Colin. We had a number of folks that hadn't ridden in ages and others that had never surfed before. Colin was a brave soul and gave it a shot.

Jeff- With all of the breakdown of the site to be done etc., I didn't get a chance to properly thank you and your crew for coming out. We ALWAYS enjoy and appreciate the effort and energy that you put into these tournaments. You guys are a class act! THANKS!

I do so love the mini-kahuna division, we generated a ton of interest by the kids and it always feels like we will create new addicts The youth division was from 12-16, the first on the regular side, Jeremy:

Mike A riding the shortbus. I had originally planned to hold a shortbus division, but we were presnted with a revised schedule on "game day". This board is a 5'2" noserider that Mike calls the shortbus.

Many thanks to the various folks that donated their time and expertise. Mike and Dennis primarily handled all of the judging duties I roped Del into handling some of that chore, also.

My son James won an Inland Surfer Yellow, I think last year. Anyway we aren't eligible for any of the prizes awarded at contests that we are involved in and we always donate any prizes that James wins at other events to be used a prizes at our events. That's where this Yellow came from. Peter walked away with this nice Inland.

Wrapping it all up, Mike Walker (no relation) of The Walker Project donated a Composite X 5.0 for the event. Thanks to Dennis who reps for TWP for bringing that prize. Stevie, who seems to have managed to get into every picture of the prize awards won the 5.0!
